About this listen

When she woke up in hospital, they said her military career was over. They were wrong though; it was just starting, only the Army she was in had changed.

Damage to her brain has unleashed incredible powers never seen in a human, but as she flexes her newfound magical muscle, it will draw the attention of creatures the Earth and humanity have forgotten. Now she must overcome not only her own terrible injuries, but also learn to control the power she can wield as a world of magical beings take a sudden interest.

There are secrets buried in the Earth’s past and she may provide the key to uncovering an ancient artifact, one that everyone in the magical world wants and that makes her a target.

None of them realize what she is though, and her hidden ancestry is going to shock both realms.

Another Excellent Story

This time the MC is a British Army Lt. who after severe injuries during her tour of duty is now pulled into the Wandless Wizard, Otto fight. This Lt. is hit with attacks one after the other in battles she is not even sure she understands.
Narrator does a nice job but there are places where the recording repeats which is very distracting.

Tiny, but fierce!

This YA read has some great messages for young women about personal power, grit, and the determination to protect others; the price you sometimes must pay for your principles; and the courage it takes to go forward unbowed. It also has a galloping action story to tell about evil wizards, demons, and the end of the world. I just love that stuff!
The narration was pretty good, except that some of the small mis-takes and reading errors were not edited out. It was not terribly distracting, but they were discrete enough that they shouldn't have been that hard to edit, and I wonder why they weren't.
This is the first book in this series that I have listened to, so I don't know a lot of the background. I am now certainly curious enough to go back and read the earlier books, and expect to have just as much fun.
