About this listen

In this gripping mystery, an FBI Agent’s search for her sister clashes with a military investigator's high-stakes case, leading them both deep into a global conspiracy - from which neither of them will escape unscathed.

For many long years, Atlee Pine was tormented by uncertainty after her twin sister, Mercy, was abducted at the age of six and never seen again. Now, just as Atlee is pressured to end her investigation into Mercy's disappearance, she finally gets her most promising breakthrough yet: the identity of her sister's kidnapper, Ito Vincenzo.

With time running out, Atlee and her assistant Carol Blum race to Vincenzo's last known location in Trenton, New Jersey - and unknowingly stumble straight into John Puller's case, blowing his arrest during a drug ring investigation involving a military installation.

Stunningly, Pine and Puller's joint investigation uncovers a connection between Vincenzo's family and a breathtaking scheme that strikes at the very heart of global democracy. Peeling back the layers of deceit, lies and cover-ups, Atlee finally discovers the truth about what happened to Mercy. And that truth will shock Pine to her very core.

Best book in the series

I enjoyed the first two Atlee Pine books but I thought this one was by far the best. Atlee Pine and John Puller mesh very well together and there is constant action thought out this book.

I’ve read two Baldacci books now that have included main characters from his other series and both were excellent.

Alley Pine

I was not ready for a female primary reading, but found this to be a good listen and kept me on the edge of my seat.

Pine, Puller, ya can’t go wrong

Oh what a story. It’s one of those where you don’t want it to end. Pine’s driving tenacity to get at the truth is palpable and you feel every moment. Enter the Puller brothers to add some good spice but don’t take over the meal, as it were. A frenetic end where even after getting answers, there are still more questions to track down. Yes, I liked it. You will too.

Daylight

I was disappointed with this David Baldacci book.
I did not ldentify with the main character - Allee Pine
it didn't matter what happened to her, that character was a bit flat. usually in all the other Baldacci books I love the main characters- not her
there will probably be another book with her because she still has not found her sister.
I always wait for the newest Baldacci book. I have listened to all of his, going back to cassette ones
Hopefully his next book will be of one of his characters that we know and love.

Riveting

Attlee Pine search for her twin sister leads her into major trouble. The hunt for her sister continues with some insights but no resolution. Great book as always. David Baldacci never disappoints.

Ending

Ending is a disappointment. In my mind, our heroine wouldn’t have had such a melt down and abandon her one relative.... but that’s just my opinion. LAM

Good

Good 3rd installment, now have to wait for #4!! Interesting plot, though a little drawn out, and the some of the references to the FBI are bogus but, it is a good read.
