About this listen

Over a dozen years have passed since a massive storm devastated Whitmire, South Carolina.

Settling in the town of Kingman, Kansas, our survivors press on, creating a community where people can live and thrive. Of course, there are unique defenses as one might expect.

Max Chatsworth and Isis Gammon are Hybrids; special beings born of the apocalypse who have recognized a building threat. Somewhere to the northwest of Kingman, a horde of the walking dead awaits, and despite their efforts, the creatures resist the far-reaching summons of the Hybrids.

To do nothing could ultimately result in an onslaught so brutal and overpowering that nobody in Kingman would survive. If the Mothers and Hungerers will not come to Kingman, Max and Isis must make the harrowing journey northwest to seek them out and destroy them where they stand.

Eric A. Shelman is a maestro all on his own, just, hopefully, not an evil one. He has written a symphony of terror and bloodshed. I only wish there wasn't and end to this book. I could keep on listening forever.

I love this series.

Sound sounds like it's back in the basement again.

Story is about the scary looking guy on the cover art. He commands zombies. Reminds me of the book Mutated by Joe Mckinney. My criticism would be similar to that book, although no where near as harsh. Things are just getting a bit over the top. I think the author is running out of ideas.

Why would his human henchmen go along with him? They themselves aren't brutal, thankfully they are portrayed realistically. But he is brutal to them. All it would take is a bullet when he turns his back.

And the hybrids; beings with super powers. How do you get super brains when combining dumb humans with even dumber zombies? It's more impressive when regular mortal humans are trying to survive. I can only hope they are sterile and die off. I want the human race to survive, not replaced by these freaks.

But I keep reading because I love the characters, the bantering, love, loyalty and humor between them.

Why is the sound tinny again?

Flex and the gang have come along way since the first book. They've made and lost many friends along the way. This time around they will lose more than they ever have. In a symphony of destruction like they have never seen.

A symphony of destruction
