About this listen

There are few things worse than being on the Arcane Bureau of Investigation's naughty list. To keep herself out of hot water, Darby Adler has made a deal with the devil - using her skills as a grave talker to help the ABI solve some very cold cases.

But there is something mighty amiss in this task, especially when quite a few of these cases lead Darby right back to her home town of Haunted Peak and the secrets buried there.

Action-packed!

What a ride! After Darby's no-so-little stint in ABI prison, thanks to the woman who shall not be called Mother, she walks out to yet another sh*tshow. This one, though, is full of "Holy CRAP" moments, and J's along for the ride. Darby's much more powerful this time around, and when the baddies come a knockin', she's rockin' alongside her friends.
Look for new enemies to be revealed in this installment. This series just keeps getting better! As for the narration, Cassandra Parker knocked it out of the park.

Love That Snark

After to getting out of Arcane prison, she finds out she has to get work for her mother. Now Darby must help to find her father's other children. Still love Darby, all her snarkiness makes me laugh. The narrator for these audiobooks is so good and fitting. I'm so glad I found Annie Anderson, I love her writing. I can't wait to hear the rest of the series.

Error at the end of chapters

There are errors at the end of chapters where parts of the story is cut off. Poorly edited ie end of chapter 20 into 21.

First one was better

The first of the series was way better than this one. The first one actually made me laugh. But, the second one the performance was exactly like the first one but it started to get on my nerves. Everything was continuously performed at high intensity. There was no leveling out anywhere. And you would think that the heroine would learn from her mistakes but she doesn't. he continues to make the same mistakes over and over again.

Whinny narrator

This is a good book I probably would have loved if not for the narrator. Thing is she could be soo good. But her voice is whinny. She makes the main character seem like a stupid drama teen. The book is interesting but the narration is constantly making me cringe. I can’t finish this book. She has completely ruined it. Like nails on a chalkboard.
