Publisher's summary

Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year.

The tourists think it's all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernaturals populating the town know better.

Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs, fur, and all.

Eamon Underwood isn’t what you’d call a social butterfly. In fact, he avoids people altogether, outside of his job at his uncle’s funeral home, where Eamon is the mortician. For him, being around the dead is easier than being around the living. Mostly because of his very curious gift that enables him to see just how long a person has left to live. That knowledge makes personal interaction far too difficult.

Until he meets Troula Kouris. And sees...nothing.

Troula comes to Nocturne Falls to join her crazy-cat-lady aunts as an oracle, one of the rare descendants of the original Greek oracles. She’s been preparing for it all of her life. Unfortunately, just before she leaves for Nocturne Falls, she gets an ominous prediction that leads her to believe becoming an oracle could be fatal. Or maybe the real danger is the darkly handsome neighbor who lives next door.

When Troula and Eamon make a curious connection that leads to romance, it seems the fates want them together, despite the risks. Can a little orange kitten really solve all of their problems? Or will it all end in a catastrophe?

Wow!! I loved this book!

When I listened to the first 15 minutes, I knew I would love this book. Tru and Eamon are my kind of people. Not too dark or scary, but just enough angst. They are a welcome addition to Nocturne Falls. Wouldn’t mind a short with Del and Seamus.

Another Score for the Win

I love this series and BJ Harrison is great in this series. He is a good story teller and Kristen Painter is great writer.
I will have to admit I had mixed feelings about the cousin and wasn't sure if he was a total bad guy until the big reveal because up until then I was on the fence about him being a total villian. Usually Kristen makes it kinda obvious and this time was a little different in that she had him in gray most of the time. I liked it better and I hope she might write a villian that can be redeemable but makes no difference because I am pretty sure I will still enjoy her writing either way. She did kinda do that with Cora but not quite.
Oooooooooo I hope she will tells Pandora's sister the one that is a life coach. I keep crossing my fingers for her to get her own story like Marigold got her own story.

Perfect from start to finish

I always know that when I start a Kristen Painter book I will be enchanted from the first sentence. The continuation of the Nocturne Falls series with Death Dates the Oracle doesn't disappoint. Kristen has a way of making the unbelievable very believable and engrossing you into the town, the characters and the story. Being of Greek decent I love love loved that part of the story-line. The mythology and supernatural aspects combination was flawless. Once again, I could listen to B.J. Harrison in every audio book! He has a way of making me envision the characters and their emotions and facial expressions with just his voice. His accents and pitches are spot on and keep me on track with the story with the simple change of voice.

Anyone who knows me knows that I love a great book and this book does not disappoint! Kristen Painter does it again! This book is funny, exciting, intriguing, and a great book! And as always B.J. Harrison does this book good! I am in love with this series and author! Do yourself a favor and give this book a listen!

I think I love it?

The ending is what I imagine my dreams are if I did drugs. I mean not to spoil anything but I did not see that coming and the image of the future is so wacky to envision. However, I love the characters and how this series is always bringing in other characters and their stories, something Ms. Painter is very talented in. The cats are a lovely touch and it's amazing to see the bond their people have with them. I do cherish the details in this book and Kristen Painters talent lining my shelves.

Another great NF story!!

As always, Kristen gave us another amazing story that BJ brought to life. I always feel like I'm watching a movie play out in my head. we've been in NF so long, I feel like I can envision every part of it, and the people.

Well written, great pace, and kept me hooked the entire way through.

And BJ, once again, gave us an amazing performance.

My rating scale:
5☆ - I loved this book and it brought out true emotion in me (laughter, anger, a good cry, etc)
4☆ - I loved this book.
3☆ - I liked this book.
2☆ - I didn't really care for this book.
1☆ - I did not like this book at all and probably did not finish it.
