About this listen

Seth has led the Immortal Guardians for thousands of years. With them fighting by his side, he has protected humans from psychotic vampires, defeated corrupt mercenary armies, defended military bases under attack, and more. But the latest enemy to rise against the Immortal Guardians has proven to be a formidable one, wielding almost as much power as Seth. His goal is simple. He wants to watch the world burn. And he will use every means at his disposal to accomplish it. Seth and his Immortal Guardians have succeeded thus far in staving off Armageddon despite heartbreaking losses. But they have never before faced such danger.

Leah Somerson has suffered losses of her own. It has taken her a long time to rebuild her life and find some semblance of peace. Then one night a tall, dark, powerful immortal with what appears to be the weight of the world on his shoulders stumbles into her shop, and everything changes. Peace and contentment are no longer enough. Now she wants more. She wants to find happiness. She wants to erase the darkness in Seth's eyes and replace it with love and laughter. She knows he's different in ways that make most fear him. Even some of his immortal brethren keep a careful distance. But Leah will not. Nor will she shy away when danger strikes.

Contains mature themes.

Loved Seth’s story, I hope David’s is next!

Ahhh, I loved this book and I have loved this series, from the very beginning. There are only a handful of really well written paranormal romance series, ever written, and this is one of them. This is not really a series that a listener can jump into the middle of and truly enjoy. A start from book one is imperative.

This book has the same feel as The Black Dagger Brotherhood and the Dark Protectors series, in that, there is a group of immortals that have made it their mission to protect humans from the evil, in the world. Seth is their leader, and up to this point, leading this group has been the only focus. In this book, he meets his lady love.

In addition to Seth’s developing love interest, secrets are finally revealed that have only been hinted about in previous books. In addition, the long time antagonist(Villain)is finally cornered and dealt with. It will be interesting to see what direction the series will take after the events in this book. The author promises that there is still lots to come and I am eagerly awaiting the next release; this author never disappoints.

Dianne Duvall has outdone herself!

This book is genius! Dianne's storytelling weaves past and present storylines together so well, that you world be a fool not to go back and appreciate her referencing! And to be this brilliant while telling Seth's story is a blessing! Seth deserves Leah and this book deserves 5 Stars!

REVIEW PROVIDED BY: Kelly
NUMBER OF HEARTS: 5
SETH!!!!
SETH!!!!!
SETH!!!!!
Did I mention that this is SETH’S book?
We have been waiting for years for this book and boy does Ms. Duvall deliver!! There is a lot that happens in Death of Darkness. But prepare yourself there will be a lot of laughs, smiles, wtf and tears. Oh lordy I was not ready for the amount of tears I shed. I really should have known. Ms. Duvall does an excellent job of tugging at your heart strings.
I don’t want to give anything away with my review. So I will leave you with this.
Death of Darkness is an emotional ride through the Immortal Guardian’s world both past, present and possible futures. So buckle up, hold on and have a huge box of tissues because this book changes everything.
And once again I let the amazingly talented Kirsten Potter read this story to me. OMG this lady is talented. If you have not listened to her narrate before quickly go get this book (unless you have not started this series then get book 1) and find out why I am so in love with Ms. Potter. Kirsten, thank you so much for doing such an amazing job on Dianne’s characters and bring them to life for me. Until next time!!!!!

Blown away

We’ve waited for Seth’s story for so long and it definitely did NOT disappoint. Once again I’m so impressed by the world and characters Dianne Duvall has built. Leah is funny and charming and the perfect “mom” for our groups of immortals. She is the most relatable character I’ve read about in a while. Her insecurities about her scars really resonated with me and I teared up more than once. I also found myself laughing out loud at several quips throughout the story, which is unusual for me. Oh, and of course there are several steamy scenes! Another part I really loved about this book was that it was considerably long, so we got to check in with favorite characters from pat books without it seeming rushed. Overall I really enjoyed this book! It’s definitely worth a listen.

Seth needed someone who can bring laughter to him.

I enjoyed this book and can't wait to hear Amy's brother tale. Oh, no what about David and WHAT was done to Cliff. I actually went back and listened to all the stories and loved them all. Please write more.

This series is a fixture in my to-read list

The Immortal Guardians are a refreshing take on the standard vampire story. Even though a newcomer will comprehend the events in Death of Darkness, Seth's journey should be experienced from the beginning. I always recommend discovering all the books in a series.

Death of Darkness represents a world of individuals who can kick serious a**. They are fiercely loyal and consider one another family. As a group, they help defend humanity against supernatural threats. The Immortal Guardian males are formidable and protective without being condescending or frightening. The Immortal Guardian females are as capable as the men in all areas, which remains a crucial factor to my enjoyment of this series.

What I enjoyed: Death of Darkness comprises a highly anticipated novel for me and in no way did it disappoint. As the leader of the Immortal Guardians, Seth has supported the weight of their world on his shoulders. It was pleasant to witness him relax a bit. While several conflicts were cleared up, there was a sweet intertwining of the burgeoning romance between Seth and Leah. Their relationship was unrushed and a friendship forged over time, even though it was clear from the beginning the two were romantically perfect for each other.

The wit that makes up all of the Immortal Guardians books was present, as was the seductive appeal of the lead. Several moments of suspense kept me on my toes, one, in particular, really got my blood pumping.

This series is a constant fixture in my to-read list of urban fantasy/ paranormal romances. I highly recommend it.
