About this listen

As part of an elite Deathwatch kill team, Brother Balthasar of the Dark Angels joins a special Inquisitorial mission to the eldar craftworld of Kher-Ys.

Long ago ravaged by the daemonic forces of Slaanesh, the craftworld may still harbour the unlikeliest of allies for the Space Marines and the key to a greater victory for the Chapter.

Great story

I really enjoyed the multiple characters that were utilized in this story. Great short story.

just wow

for such a short listen, it is very well paced. it squeezes just enough exposition to make the plot coherent and flow rather well. sometimes the background noise made it a tad difficult to hear the voice actors, but otherwise it was well done. all I'm going to say is that the Dark Angels definitely go hard

it was really good

I love how the Warhammer story warp itself around and give you a good finished ending wanting you crave for more.

Hard to understand

Dark Angel stories are confusing enough without tons of sound effects thrown in louder than readier over their spoken word. Hard to enjoy this one.

part of a bigger story

it seems like this story is part of a larger story, which isn't particularly a bad thing and it stands on its own well enough at least, but I think I would've enjoyed it that much more had I read the preceding stories first. that being said it's still a fine audio drama in it's own right

terrible audio

can't hear a damn thing with all the background noise, it makes it impossible to focus on the story or hear who's doing what

This is for Dark Angel fans, not Deathwatch

No spoilers.

The book is marketed and titled as a Deathwatch story, and while it does follow a Deathwatch Kill Team, it’s actual focus is on the secret missions of a Dark Angel. If you’ve enjoyed CZ Dunn’s Dark Angel work you may enjoy it, but if you are looking for an interesting Deathwatch story, like I was, look elsewhere.

distracting noises

super loud and unessicary background noises added for effect but executed poorly. I had to stop part way through because of how annoying they were.
