Living with fatigue can feel hopeless and confusing, with traditional medical approaches focusing on managing symptoms rather than understanding and addressing underlying causes. But healing is possible when you learn to decode your fatigue and apply the right interventions, in the right sequence, at the right time.

After suffering from chronic fatigue for seven years, renowned health expert Alex Howard founded one of the world's leading clinics specializing in fatigue, and has dedicated over 20 years to understanding this condition.

This audiobook will guide you through a clinically proven methodology to help you to:

  • Understand the underlying factors that cause fatigue.
  • Discover the key steps to increasing your energy sustainably.
  • Map out your personalized plan for recovery.

This revolutionary 12-step approach will not only help you to decode your fatigue, but also start to create your own path to healing and transformation.

I found this book to be enlightening and plan to take the free companion course. There us hope

A new design for living

Maybe an editor could have shortened the book. Ironic that a book on fatigue would be so long.

This is an outstanding book: It is very well organized, empathetic, engaging, & helpful. Every exposure I have to Alex Howard’s work leaves me more & more impressed. He consistently exceeds my expectations & over-delivers (in the best of ways). The fact that he has included a free companion course is so typical of how he operates! I am so thankful for Alex’s work, his dedication, and his genuine empathy. I wish I could thank him in person.

Outstanding

Alex knows his audience. He understands their personality traits, their symptoms, their fears. He understands fatigue and the many things that can make us feel fatigued. He breaks down recovery into 12 steps and I can’t wait to start his free companion course and start on my healing journey.

More helpful than any practitioner I’ve seen

After years of life-shredding fatigue and pain, I was recommended this book by multiple people the Curable app's pain Facebook group, who also have fatigue. I got it in audiobook, read by the author, and it both gives me hope, and makes me wish I had known about it years ago.

The author healed from chronic fatigue, and then set up a UK-based fatigue center, and both experiences are obvious! Over years he's developed, tested, and refined theories of fatigue, first on himself and his colleagues, and then with patients. He is clearly both a big picture thinker and one who sees the individual, without getting his pride involved. (In fact, he lays that out as a practitioner red-flag in a section that by itself is worth the book.)

He's identified broad patterns, like the most common personality traits that are linked to fatigue conditions (with great empathy and not judgment), and how to adjust our thought patterns. I recognize all four patterns in my life, and can already feel the internal space from applying the lessons. (I plan to listen to his podcast to keep it front of mind)

He is upfront about how individuals are different, and gives examples of how those atypical patients can navigate and advocate for themselves.

I'd given up hope - this book includes Long COVID

Finally, a detailed plan of action, hope for those of us suffering from CFS/me or fibromyalgia. Easy to listen to, easy to follow, easy directions.

This is rather long and drawn out for not a lot of information. The way things are said pretty much anyone in modern society could diagnose themselves with cfs by reading this book and can help themselves. Its written to fit like a horoscope. There are better actually in depth books out there or resources. Try Hubermann lab podcast.

Also some things are wrong in the book. Like the mechanical definition of stress and the term probiotic. The definition given was for a prebiotic.

Its narrated and written well.

I had really high hopes for this book based on reviews. As someone who has suffered with chronic fatigue and mysterious health issues for years now, I often look for new ideas and information. Unfortunately, most of what I heard in this book, I already knew. There was not much that was new to me or helpful in my case. I also disagreed with the author's promotion of eating animal products. This might be a good starting point for someone new to these chronic health issues, but if you are one who already reads and researches a lot, it may not be helpful for you.

It was okay.
