Decree of Finality
Decree of Finality: Brent Marks Legal Thrillers Series, Book 8
: Kenneth Eade
This is my first listen to a book by this author, but it definitely won't be the last.
A legal thriller that takes the listener on a fast pace ride that spins one direction then another and another. It was very gripping and kept me listening straight through.
The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. David A. Wood's voice fit the story very nicely.

Great listen!
Any additional comments?
I very much enjoyed this download! I had no idea it was the eighth book in a series. This story felt very full.
I LOVED the narrator! His delivery was very easy on the ears and was a great compliment to the story.
I pretty much knew 'whodunnit' early on but it was great listening to the twists and turns of the story. I'm not sure if I will go back and listen to the earlier books but I think I will look out for any future series.

Kenneth Eade is a super fantastic author
Would you listen to Decree of Finality again? Why?
I rarely read a book twice because I remember to many instances from the first time I read it.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Brent Marks of course and Jack.
What about David A. Wood’s performance did you like?
I liked the sound of his voice. His reading speed was great. His voice and style is very antimated.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. But I didn't.
Any additional comments?

Legal Thriller with Interesting Characters
Would you consider the audio edition of Decree of Finality to be better than the print version?
That's a weird question. I prefer audio books and I rarely "read" books. I will say that the narrator makes all the difference and with this book, David Wood did a great job.
What other book might you compare Decree of Finality to and why?
I haven't listened to too mahy legal thrillers but when comparing this author to ones like his style, I would say he is most like Greg Iles. And I mean that as a huge compliment, I love Greg Iles and I enjoyed this book too.
Which scene was your favorite?
The ending scene took me by surprise and that doesn't happen often with me. I won't say more so I don't spoil the ending for others.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Over Confidence Can Be a Killer

A Suspenseful Thriller..
Any additional comments?
The main male lead, Brent, takes a few extra cases to earn a few more bucks.
Things are not what they seem or what he expects, there are twists and turns that make the story line an engaging read.
The narrator, David A. Wood , did well with the narration.

This author is consistently inconsistent
This 4 hour legal thriller from Kenneth Eade is excellent, but Eade's novels are horribly inconsistent. I've now listened to four of Eade's novels two of which earned 1 star and two of which earned 4 stars. I am through with Kenneth Eade novels.

"... all those things that were so important ..."
Any additional comments?
Robert Taylor was tired of his wife. He wanted a divorce. Amy Taylor did not. So Robert went to see a lawyer.
Brent Marks didn't like divorce cases. He didn't want to take on Taylor. But he needed the money.
And then Amy Taylor was murdered. Now Brent has more on his hand than a simple divorce case.
Well written with good character building and natural dialogue, this intriguing mystery thriller proceeds gently but with ever increasing twists and tension. David A.Wood's narration fits the pace and timbre of the book perfectly and, whilst seeming to naturally assume the role of Brent Marks, also gives distinctive and plausible voices to the other protagonists. He was a pleasure to hear and his performance enhanced the story.
This is the first of Kenneth Eade's legal thriller series that I have read and my thanks to the right's holder for gifting me a copy of this audio book. Although eighth in the series it is an entirely stand alone story and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys the twists and turns of legal thrillers. I will certainly be looking for more by this author.
