About this listen

In a clandestine meeting on Earth, Van learns a critical bit of family history when he meets his secret benefactor.

From the halls of power in Washington to the vastness of space, the Guild moves closer to outright war as shifting alliances force everyone—including Van—to pick a side, take up arms, and fight.

But there are ghosts out there in the black, and some of them carry secrets that Mark Tudor and Petyr Groshenko refused to reveal. In the expanse of his memory, Perry finds an ancient ship, and an even older war—and neither of those things have truly gone away.

Faced with power and responsibility unlike anything he can imagine, Van Tudor is about to learn a fact that few people have ever known: The universe looks different when you're wearing a Master's badge. And those who don't have one just might want you dead.

The Ferals Attack

The saga continues to expand while the action contracts down to Earth. Meanwhile, Van and crew make waves at Walmart.

I really wish that Chaney would learn the difference between ‘anxious’ and ‘eager’. Always used wrong.

Another Winner!

After 18 books in the series, these books keep on going with fresh story lines. I always enjoy Van and his crew and look forward to book 19! I keep up with many series and this one is perhaps my favorite!

Another great episode in the Backyard Starship collection.

The story was intriguing, the characters were interesting as always and the performance really brought the book to life.

Series gets better and better

The story is serious and spattered with lots of zingy one liners from Perry and the crew. Really entertaining writing and narration!

Excellent Series!

This is an excellent series and I enjoy the character development and world/galaxy/universe(?) building. The voice acting has definitely given the series life!

I have one concern going forward, the last 2-3 books have not really finished up any of the major plot points and bad guys just keep getting added. The thing that kept me going during this series was that there was an individual book plot that would conclude with the overarching plots moving along at a pace that seemed to have an end in sight. I do hope that we start to see some of these hanging plots start to get wrapped up.

A wonderfully humorous space saga

I look forward to every new book, and go back to listen to the previous a few days prior to release… I enjoy them that much.

Continued excellence

The saga continues to hit on all the points. Great story, excellent characters and a plot that keep one engaged and on the edge of your seat. Well worth the listen.
