About this listen

In the real world, Blake Masters isn't special, but when he discovers a portal in the middle of the Arizona desert, he will find himself in a world unlike any he's ever seen before.

For one, it has dragons.

For two, only a couple of men are born every generation.

And for three? Well, he now has a superpower, class ability, magic, or whatever you want to call it.

And yeah, his power to upgrade and enhance the dragons and people around him might not seem like much, but once he finishes his time at the academy, well, him, his lady friends, and all their dragons might just become the most powerful force the world has ever seen.

Meh

Love the covert art. That's the best thing I can say about this book. OTher than that, it's average at best.

It's a harem novel with a touch of LitRPG.

Down on his luck guy falls through a portal to another world, where he happens to have magic powers much better than the magic powers other people has. Men are rare, and the ladies (and dragons) love him.

- Why did the road turn into yellow goo? Why was it like that in our world, but the other end of the portal was a rip in the sky?
- Why does this classic high fantasy medieval style world have indoor plumbing with showers and toilets, cheeseburgers, modern vernacular, and modern underwear?
- What happened to the 8th man? He was mentioned once and never again.

Maybe some of this will be answered in future books. Maybe. Or maybe it's just lazy writing. Who's to say. I just can't help but feel that there are much better harem novels out there.

decent

Few reasons i give this a 4 star on story. First there's a lot of similarities between this and dragon master to the point i just couldn't ignore. second i didn't like any of the girls. Third the MC is a sub ( petty i know but it's my opinion so deal with it) Fourth why introduce an academy if the only thing you are going to do with it os feed the MC? yes there is some training but that come from the leaders. i don't think I'm going to be listening to book 2

good start to a series

I enjoyed listening to this first installment of a potentially great series. I am very familiar with the author and this book did not didapoint. this was my first experience with Rachel LeBlang and I thought she did a fabulous job. I like the way she sounds and not over dramatic. I just relaxed as she told me a story. I am anticipating the second book soon. thanks

Performance better than the story

The romance only barely saves this book from it's bland and predictable plot. Everything just lands in the MCs lap without any struggle. I'm skipping the follow up books in this series.

While this book is sub par, other books by this same author have been good.

Great Book!

Biggest bonus points from me are for the fact that dragons aren't rare, but rather a regular part of life. And Blake's demeanor fits his role perfectly

Nonsense

Totally and utter nonsense. This MC is a total idiot. First few hours he is way to accepting of being portaled into a new world and then begins to be lead around by his nose by these women. They blow off his questions and he is ok with that? how about you answer my questions or I'm not going ANYWHERE with you! The only real decision making he makes was to drink from this magic glass, Which again he is a idiot, why would you drink from a glass, some chic you just met 5 minutes ago?
