Publisher's summary

Sarah and David have survived the zombie apocalypse. They stood side by side and fought mad scientists, the undead, and even bionic monsters...until the unthinkable happened. A zombie bite. But not even that could stop them. Now, with a possible cure in hand, they're headed east, looking for a safe zone behind the rumored "Wall." They're feeling pretty optimistic. That is, until Dave stops sleeping and starts lifting huge objects. Eat. Slay. Love. Because they haven't got a prayer.

Better by far than the previous

If you’ve read Married with Zombies, and you’re looking to “read” the “series” you needn’t pick up all three books. Book 2 is a waste of time and money, there’s virtually no story except that there’s a “cure” for zombie-ism…besides a crack to the skull. Book 3 brings hope back for David, but if you learned to like Sarah, by book 3 you’ll know she’s only managed to survive because of David. In book 1 she’s presented as the overworked, under appreciated wife of a slacker husband, David, that does little more than watch tv or play video games all day while she works, at least that’s the impression Peterson attempts to persuade the audience into believing, Sarah is dumb, she’s a harpy that refuses to listen to anything David may have to say, I realize that sounds chauvinistic, but that’s the impression I have by the end. The books are gory, but if you like the Walking Dead, they’ll be right up your alley, I do, but I don’t want to HEAR gore, even just the description, it icks me out. Book 3 doesn’t give you the ending you’re hoping for, but it at least puts some things to rest. It’s not the worst series out there, but it’s not one I’ll re-listen to. Campbell does a decent job, but I won’t be seeking out this narrator either.

Funny!!

A love story based around zombies. Action, comedy and dysfunctional people who are fighting their way through the apocalypse.

Book 4 Please :)

This series offers the perfect mix of comedy, drama, romance and Science Fiction. It can be difficult to find a GOOD apocalyptic novel with a little comedy relief. A big thank you to Jesse Peterson for delivering another fun story and to Cassandra Campbell for making this another great listen. Keep up the good work ladies!
Note for Audible: Please keep the series going with book 4, The Zombie Whisperer. Offering Jesse Peterson's Monstrosity series wouldn't be a bad idea either.

This trilogy was a good listen. Fun, adventure and bit of relationship advice. Don't sweat the small stuff.

another great book in the series

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved the scene with the "cult" organization where the main characters were taken in custody and then sent to the pit for punishment. I was really intriqued with how they were going to survive this scenario. Well done!!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, although it took me two sittings...

First Thought when Finished: Eat Slay Love was an interesting journey and some really good kick ass action!

Overall Thoughts: Eat Slay Love was not my favorite book in the series but it was still very enjoyable. Sarah & David are still kicking ass but also dealing with David's "difference (fall out from Flip This Zombie). I have to admit that I really loved the edition of a couple of characters (won't give spoilers but these two come in fairly early--one girl, one guy). Jesse writes really great characters. They are often filled with spunk and vigor. I was glad to see that there is a 4th book in the series! The last of the book would have worked as an ending point but I think there was still so much story left to tell. I will be picking it up soon!

Audio Thoughts:

Narrated By Cassandra Campbell /Length: 7 hrs and 53 mins

I am usually a fan of Cassandra Campbell but overall she wasn't a great fit for me and this series. I think she did a stellar job with Sarah but I never warmed up to her voice of David. However, it is mostly because I had "David" in my head a different way. This is usually why I won't start a series late on Audio.

Final Thought: Super glad there is a 4th book in the series.
