Publisher's summary

A demon enslaved.

Lore is a Seminus half-breed demon who has been forced to act as his dark master's assassin. Now to earn his freedom and save his sister's life, he must complete one last kill. Powerful and ruthless, he'll stop at nothing to carry out this deadly mission.

An angel tempted.

Idess is an earthbound angel with a wild side, sworn to protect the human Lore is targeting. She's determined to thwart her wickedly handsome adversary by any means necessary-even if that means risking her vow of eternal chastity. But what begins as a simple seduction soon turns into a passion that leaves both angel and demon craving complete surrender.

Torn between duty and desire, Lore and Idess must join forces as they battle their attraction for each other. Because an enemy from the past is rising again-one hellbent on vengeance and unthinkable destruction.

wonderful book, narration sucks

this narrator was so bad I had to run my iPod on "FAST" to get through the book.
I love Larissa Ione & the Demonica series is one of my favorites - but this guy's voice is .... the..... worst...ever

Great Book!

Disagree with one review which stated Paul Boehmer was a bad narrator. I thought he was spot on with the characters. Can't wait to listen to the next book in the series.

GREAT book, but bad narrator...

I am in LOVE with these Demonica Novels by Larissa Ione. (I really hope that she writes more than 5 books!) I also really enjoyed the first 3 audio downloads, but this one, book #4, is my least favorite. Again, the book itself is fantastic, as good as the other 3. Yet I had a very hard time listening to this male narrator. I wish that they would have used a female narrator as they did for the other books in this series. (Why wouldn't they use the same narrator for each book in the series????) He sounds way too snooty, radio commerical, to read the dirty talking and great sex scenes that are in this book. His voice really made if difficult to get into the book like i did with the others. The others I could listen to over and over, but not this 4th book. SAD!!!!

Lore & Idess...

I want to preface this by saying that I am totally in LOVE with this series. Larissa Ione has a fantastic imagination! She can make all the parts and players fall right into place just when you think there is no way it can or will work. And she does it so smoothly!

Angels and Demons and Death.. OH MY! Can an angel love a demon? Can a demon be good? Why would an angel protect a demon? These are all questions that Larissa Ione builds this installment on. We see all of the Demon brothers and their mates and children from the previous books. I really enjoy knowing what the others are doing and that they are all still a big part of the story.

In this book we meet Seminus Demon Lore and his twin sister Sin, Sin is the first and only female Seminus Demon every born, and Idess, an angel trying to ascend and get her wings. How these 3 come together is breathtakingly sexy and action packed! There is a lot of action in part 4 of the Demonica series, more than the last 2 I think, not as much sex, but when there *is*, it's HOT!

This is a "not to be missed" installment of this series, and a series I think best read in order.

Now, with that said, I'm listening to this series on audio books, and I have to ask.. why oh WHY would she have Paul Boehmer narrate this story!? I actually had to FORCE myself to listen to him! Odd pauses, drawn out words, odd accent, and when he tried to speak as a female character he sounded horrible and unbelievable. As a previous poster said, "the narrator almost makes you feel like your dad is reading it to you...". When this guy says "balls" it comes out "boohhhawwwls", and all the erotic, steamy, sex talk/scenes sound creepy in his voice. He just can't pull it off. I really can't stress enough how bad he is.

The first 2 audio books in this series had excellent narrators, the third book, in retrospect (and after listening to this guy), was okay. This one, unless you MUST listen to it on audio book, I'd suggest actually reading the book.

One of my favorites.

I really like the narrator. So much so I go to this audio book a lot. He has a great voice that's actually very familiar. I don't care for female voices doing the love scenes eeewww! Think about it.

Narrator doesn't match the book AT ALL!

Wow, the rest of the comments are correct, the narrator has the completely wrong voice for this type of book. Too "proper". Book is good, but the narrator almost makes you feel like your dad is reading it to you... weird...

Sarcasim on Point

I have enjoyed this series, but I must say the humor and sarcasm had me laughing out loud. Literally. Really loved the sarcasm and one liners in this book. Can't wait to listen to the next one.

I disagree with previous reviews

I almost didn't download this book because the reviews about the narration were so terrible. But I am really glad I did! I really like this series and was concerned that I would hate this book because of a male narrator. Well I disagree with previous reviews and felt that having a male narrator was appropriate and worked for this book. It's interesting too because normally I don't like male narrators for any of the books I listen too. But since this book is so male centric I think it really worked well to have a male doing all the male voices. To me the narration on this book was so much better than book 3. I hated the narration on that book and couldn't wait for it to be over. So if you read the reviews and don't give this book a try because of a male narrator I think you will be missing out.

Fantastic!

Another great addition to the series. I’ve been listening to these books as I clean the house and do random things, like gardening, and I must say it really passes the time. I’m even reluctant to stop cleaning so I can listen some more!

Idess is a strong woman who easily handles our hero, Lore. There were so many twists and turns I didn’t expect that kept me wondering what would happen next. I don’t want to give much away, but there is family betrayal, revenge, and so much delicious lovemaking. A perfect story to fill your nights.

If I had to find one thing I didn’t enjoy, it would be the beginning. Although our hero hasn’t met our heroine, I don’t really need to see him with another woman, especially with such detail. Even then, it didn’t bother me too much.
