About this listen

The iron-clad reality of the world relentlessly comes for all. Arcanes, the enemies of humanity, thrive upon power harvested from broken human souls. The City Lords and Major Houses rule with unquestioned power.

Tala has been seized, torn away from all that she has ever known. A false history and personality was implanted within her, and only her revolutionary defenses and self-restoration magic have given her a fighting chance at all.

She is behind enemy lines with an unexpected chance to seize power, learn from ancient experts, delve into the secrets of humanity's mortal foe, and achieve her own freedom once more.

In order to return home, Tala must claim some measure of authority within the very same Major House that stole her freedom and tried to steal her very self.

The seventh installment of the hit GameLit series with more than 2,500,000 views on Royal Road now available on Kindle, KU, and Audible!

Surprisingly Awesome

To be honest, I thought I was going to hate this book but I was happily mistaken. I thought it was going to be nothing but misery as Tala is held captive by evil Archanes, but it really isn't like that at all. This book delivers a lot of world building while maintaining an interesting plot with plenty of action interspersed throughout. I almost took issue with something that happens towards the end of the book that seemed like the author forced the plot a bit and had people acting in ways they should not have, but even this was explained later by reminding me of something that happed early in the book. This was really well done. My thanks to the author for the entertainment!

Absolutely amazing story

If you haven’t started reading Millennial Mage you have got to get on it. This story has been incredible. So much so that I am starting the series over. The world building and magic system are of epic proportion and should be spread and celebrated. Truly loved this experience. Can’t wait for more!

Wonderful continuation of the series - DO NOT get thrown off by the first chapter!!

This is one of my favorite series, and even though the first chapter is rather jarring, it sets up the rest of the story and context comes in the next couple chapters, as well as a return to Tala being the main voice. As always, J.L. Mullins does a wonderful job, and I can’t wait for more of Tala’s story!

Amazing

You sometimes see a series get a bit less interesting with every new installment as the world has less to reveal and the plot crawls forward. So im happily surprised to see that this installment only reignites my interest in the series more than it's recent books. Such a great continuation highly recommend!

The best in the series so far.

The story has some great character development, and real plot progression that has been absent most of the series. It's mostly felt more like a slice of life fantasy up until now, which I have enjoyed but gets tedious if there is no serious development or just progresses to slowly.

The quality of this release was excellent, and I actually look forward to the next book.

very good.

I almost gave up on the first chapters. mind control and uneccicary nerfs after a large jump in power always drive me nuts. I was also glad she made it back by the end of the book. much stronger but changed for sure

Great continuation

It was definitely interesting to see how the big bad arcanes live. Lots of new world, and character building. I do hope to see more of the plains people in a later book.

questions

would you a Mc with powerful unquie equipment tailor made by a genious in the art to maximize their endurance a powerful person one that relies totally on gear to even function. Add a reckless almost suicidal urge to do what she wants regardless of the consequences, top that with a chaotic mind that seems to zone out things they doesn't seem important and has to be reminded by the voice in her head and you have our Mc in this series in a nutshell
