About this listen

Citizens chose safety over liberty long ago.

Now they have neither.

Derek Reeves is stranded on Psycho Island, the most dangerous place on the planet. He’s alone and hunted by the most powerful gangs on the open-air island prison. To survive, he’ll need help. To escape, he’ll need a miracle.

That miracle might just come from the man who stole Derek’s family. Jacob Roth is married to Derek’s ex-wife, Rebecca. When Jacob agreed to use his wealth and power to rescue Derek, it didn’t go as planned. Jacob hired Project Freedom, a group of drug smugglers and con men who provide closure and false hope to families of island prisoners. For a fee, Project Freedom produced fraudulent video evidence of Derek’s demise on Psycho Island. This was meant to satisfy Rebecca’s desire to help her ex and the father of her daughter.

But, when Summer Fitzgerald washed up on that beach in the Virgin Islands, the truth about Derek washed up with her. Jacob’s plan for a cheap and easy disposal of his wife’s ex-husband turned into an expensive and elaborate plan to actually rescue his rival.

Summer Fitzgerald is a fugitive, the first escaped convict from Psycho Island. She travels to Silver City, the only place that welcomes enemies of the state and also the possible location of her dissident father. The freest city on Earth occupies a tiny slice of Panama, between the jungles of the Darién Province and the Gulf of San Miguel. Summer is desperate to locate and recover her son, Byron, who was taken from her by the state after her arrest.

Truman Bradshaw, a part-time Silver City resident and the full-time CEO of Thorium Unlimited - the growing worldwide energy supplier, and rival to the old banking money masters - offers to help Summer locate her son, but the price might be more than she can pay.

After the bombing, Naomi Sutton adjusts to life without her husband. Naomi tries to resume her illicit relationship with her chief of staff. Unfortunately, her disfigured appearance is too much for him to take. His love is only skin deep. Despite her rejection by her lover and the ongoing threat of assassination, Naomi continues her quest for the Democratic presidential nomination. She soon finds out that she’ll only go so far on her own merit. Ultimately, she must make a choice. Either compromise her principles and make a deal with Jacob Roth or be relegated to the dustbin of history.

This novel contains adult content, language, and sexual situations.

Action Packed Deep Messaged Thriller

I could hardly put this down. Like the first book, this is written with deep societal messages on par with 1984, Atlas Shrugged, and Animal Farm. Except, this thriller dealt with the concept of too many laws created by over 200 years of legislation, with many ignoring the US Constitution, verses a state with no laws. I don't like violence, But the forward button handled that for me. The messages are timely. This series would make for an awesome Amazon tv series.

An excellent action-packed addition to the 2050 se

2050: Exodus the second episode in the 2050 series is the story of Derek and Summer on Psycho Island, how they build alliances and their antagonistic personal relationship over time. Once again Mr. Williams creates a highly detailed mosaic of life on Psycho Island as well as maintaining the story line for those characters not remanded to Psycho Island. The political elements of this story feel like they might have been taken from back-stage goings on from our current time and elections. The way that Phil Williams is able to weave the various story arcs in this book together makes for not just a compelling story but keeps the series cohesive.
Once again, the synergy between Mr. Williams’ story and the narration prowess of Tristan Wright and Sarah Grace Wright makes this story highly addictive. I received a review copy of the audiobook version of 2050: Exodus from the author and chose to provide this review.

Another "Can't stop listening" story

Characters get better every chapter. Storyline I'd gripping and never let's up. Can't wait to start book 3!

WOW!!

This second audiobook in the ‘2050’ series does not disappoint! Even more action, intrigue and political unrest. There’s never a dull moment. This story just gets better and better.

Tristan Wright and Sarah Grace Wright absolutely do the story justice with their great narration. It’s easy to tell the characters apart by the voice and accent. Again, having a male and female voice working together make listening to this audiobook very easy and captivating.

The story itself is fascinating and believable. It’s almost as if the author was able to peek into the future. I can see a lot of things from this storyline being plopped right into our real world! Some already have.

This is definitely an edge of your seat story. Hang on tight and enjoy the ride!!

Great Author and Narration

Usually I read to get away from the turmoil in today's news but this book series is constantly throwing it in my face. I started Psycho Island by reading it on Kindle and then took advantage of an offer by Phil to get the audio version of 2050 Exodus. So glad I did because it made the story more real somehow due to hearing the voices of the characters. Now onto the story review:
If you are anything like me you will get pissed off at references in the book that relate to our current political environment. The mere mention of the most UN-trusted news channel which is CNN still being around in 2050 was enough to make me want to stop listening but somehow I kept going and found that I still like the story and have a desire to find out how the series turns out. The only other time I had this kind of reaction to a fictional story was with a 1957 book called Atlas Shrugged. This series seems to have many of the concepts that Ayn Rand used even though the situations are different. I guess my point is we as human beings are slaves to our nature as evidenced by thousands of years of history and our nature will never change. I will continue to read Phil M. Williams books because he's an excellent writer and the content makes me think while still being entertained.

Three Major Plots

I really enjoy this futuristic novel in which the author interweaves three major stories. One is about Derek Reeves and his possible rescue being orchestrated by his ex-wife Rebecca, who happens to be married to Jacob Roth. The second plot is about Summer Fitzgerald, who managed to escape from Psycho Island, and who wants to get her son back. The third plot is about Naomi Sutton who is campaigning to be the Democratic presidential nomination and the obstacles she is facing. This novel is very convoluted and a lot is going on. I recommend it to others who enjoy this genre. Tristan Wright's and Sarah Grace Wright's narrations are engaging and adds to the enjoyment of the story. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.
