About this listen

On your knees, billionaire.

Is there anything more satisfying than putting a powerful man in his place? I just told off my billionaire CEO in front of the entire company, and it was totally worth it. Do I care that a viral video of our exchange sent his stocks into freefall? Nope. Am I going to help Rand Wolfe rehab his company’s reputation? Not a chance in hell.

There’s just one problem: I’m the bastard son of a mafia don, a fact Wolfe finds out the hard way when he tracks me down at the docks. Saving his life puts a mafia-style extradition order on my head, and the only place to hide is his high-rise penthouse. Could be worse, I suppose.

Now that I’m forced to spend time with him, I discover a seductively kind man who, like me, wants to be a better person than his father. As things heat up between us, I find that he rather enjoys being put in his place, and "eat the rich" takes on a whole new meaning.

But with danger around every corner, can I protect the man I’m falling for?

Extradition is a Manhattan romance that features an ex-mobster with a heart of gold, a billionaire who likes to take direction, plus a snarky cast of criminals, reprobates, and other corporate types. The books in this series are stand-alones, and the HEA is always guaranteed.

Outstanding!

Blake Lockheart does a wonderful job of bringing this story to life.
Extradition is the first book in the new Mobsters + Billionaires series and I am here for it!
I loved the dynamics between Rand and Joe. The balance of their give and take is perfection.
Each brings something unique to the relationship and I really enjoyed seeing them grow into the person they truly are meant to be. Seeing Rand come into his own is amazing. Joe has pulled himself out of the place he least wanted to be and will fight to the literal death to keep what he and Rand have.
The story flowed so well that I kept turning page after page, unable to stop reading.
Kelly Fox writes characters that are so multi dimensional they come alive on the page.
I know I am hooked and can't wait to see what comes next.

A Good Start

This was book 1 in the "Mobsters and Billionaires" series. This was a really good read. While in a company meeting Joe tells off the CEO Rand Wolfe and there exchange goes viral when his companies sticks tank Rand knows that he has to work with Joe to make it right so he goes to the docks to find him only he gets more than he bargained for. Joe comes from a mafia family and he doesn't want to be in the mob so he went to school. When Rand shows up without his bodyguard and when Joe's brother Sal sets eyes on him his life is in danger so Joe safes him only to blow up his life. This was a good read Joe was willing to do anything to keep him safe. Rand was raised to be the alpha and everyone else is less than him Joe helps him see that you can't treat people like that and that if you pay your employees a far wage and good benefits they will be productive. His father was not happy and I happy when he started standing up to him. Joe has always had issues with his family he is the illegitimate son whose mother left him with his father he was raised by his grandmother his father put a hit out on him for protecting Rand. While living together they begin working to rebuild the company and they begin getting closer and having sex they are just what the other needs. I really liked both of these characters both had daddy issues but Rand is a billionaire while Joe grew up in the mob. I also liked the secondary characters in this book and it was good to see the beginning of Luca and Ford. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

"You can take the man out of the Mafia and put him in a fancy Manhattan high-rise, but that man’s always gonna have a little bit of mobster in him."

Great!

I was unsure about starting this book, but I'm so glad I did. It was paced nicely, had a solid plot that kept my interest, and even background characters I felt invested in.

Narration was perfect. All of the voices were distinct, which made keeping track of the characters easier. I was thoroughly impressed that a single narrator was able to accomplish so much, so well.

Kelly Fox lulled me into a pattern of books set in Texas only to blow me out of the water with her depiction of New York City. Like it says on the tin, mobsters and billionaires are a departure from her previous works, but this author’s grasp on inherent human nature makes this book with all-new characters as compelling as anything previously released by her. I adored Joe from the beginning, of course, because who hasn’t wanted to rage-quit out of a useless work meeting? I was prepared for a much more fraught enemies-to-lovers sort of romance arc based on Rand’s portrayal in said work meeting. However, Fox immediately upends expectations with his character (and character development) from the very next chapter.

The way Rand and Joe are thrown together leans a bit into the comedy of errors side at the beginning, but the forced proximity aspect of this novel does an excellent job of increasing the tension on multiple internal and external levels for the storyline. At one point, I actually thought that the main pivotal moment of the book arrived too soon until I quickly realized that Fox attends to every point of tension in appropriately dramatic and warranted resolutions.

The relationship that develops between the two men is fascinating, adorable, and sexy AF all at the same time, each element not precluding the others. I especially enjoyed the significant emotional power exchange on both sides that starts from a place of physical attraction and slips seamlessly into affection and then outright love. There’s been lots of discourse in Fox’s social media about categorizing the dynamic between Joe and Rand, but honestly, it boils down to this: Each interaction between them, once they realize they are on the same side, stems from a place of respect and care.

Every bit of this book is fun to read, from the private moments between the main heroes to the more public moments where we meet fascinating secondary characters (for whom I’m already looking forward to meeting as the stars of their own novels). It might not be Texas, but I loved this book as much or more than everything else I’ve read by this author. This story is completely unconnected from other projects by Fox, but it still feels like the same world due to the care the author puts into her writing. This book says some important things about the function of contemporary work, which I enjoyed (#greatresignation). Overall, I hope readers join me in NYC for these delicious doses of mobsters and billionaires and their happily ever afters.

Absolutely Delightful!

Mobsters and billionaires are honestly 2 of my least favorite tropes, but after listening to Goodnight (also by Kelly Fox and narrated by Blake Lockheart), I decided to give this a try. Other than Goodnight, I had not read any other books by Kelly Fox, but the plot of this was intriguing. I was enthralled from the start! I adored the posturing and banter between the main characters, and the fact that a little kink was thrown in made it even better. Blake's dry delivery at times was perfection. The danger and action were fascinating in the way a good action film is and not in a dark, disturbing way. Overall, I loved this book and will absolutely listen to it again.

I’ve read this series previously.

After reading this series I was looking forward to them coming to audible. Not disappointed. These two were hot and a little bit kinky. Love it.

Bought It and Liked It

Nice combination of plot, action, passion, and drama. Despite all the references to wolfs and alphas there is no shifting of species.

The narration by Blake Lockheart was very good and he goes on my list of highly competent narrators. When trying out an unknown audiobook author I often rely on the narrator’s name to point the way to a satisfying listening experience.
