About this listen

Monsters, paramedics, and street medicine.

New paramedic Dean Flynn is fresh out of the academy. When he gets assigned to the unknown backwater ambulance Station U, he wonders what he did wrong. Then Dean learns that his patients aren't your normal 911 callers.

Dean and his partner Brynne Garvey serve the creatures of myth and legend living alongside their normal human neighbors in Elk City. With patients that are vampires, werewolves, fairies and more, will Dean survive his first days on the new job? Will his patients?

Not all is well on the streets of Elk City either, and some humans are striking out at their mythical neighbors. Dean soon finds himself in the middle of a series of attacks on his patients, attacks that implicate a former member of Station U.

Come along on this ride with "Extreme Medical Services" - part one of the series by the same name, a paranormal medical thrill-ride with the paramedics of Elk City. Described by one fan as "like Grimm, but with paramedics" this book is brought to you by best-selling author and real-life paramedic Jamie Davis. He crafts a book called an accurate, interesting, & fabulous pause-resister.

Jump on the ambulance with Dean, Brynne and the rest of the team. Buy this audiobook now!

Fun Read

Performance is a bit stilted with some odd mid sentence pauses but is otherwise good. Story is interesting and the medical info is accurate. Medical stuff doesn’t overwhelm the story line. Looking forward to the next set.

Fun Fantasy Grounded in Reality

I have to admit I’m not been much of a fantasy reader but I was attracted to this story as I’m a career paramedic. I also taught EMTs and paramedics for many years so when Dean, after having graduated at the top of his class ended up at Station U it was quite a blow to his ego. That made me laugh. The storyline had more twists and turns than a mountain Highway and the characters were well drawn. The narrator did a great job bringing them to life. I can certainly relate to Dean as he tries to understand his patients and their world. Jamie makes the strong point that The Unusuals are just people trying to get along in a world where they’re not accepted by humans. The undertone of discrimination certainly reflects the “real” world. You don’t have to be a medical person or fantasy fanatic to enjoy this story. I’m looking forward to hearing the rest of it.

I enjoyed these booky

these books are really interesting, I like that it different from a lot of the paranormal books I listen to. The narrator does an awesome job with all the different characters. I definitely would recommend these audible books.

For the Hallmark channel

I really wanted to like this series. No bite at all. It is like a cozy book. Not extreme at all.

If only it had a better narrator.

I enjoyed the world, though I wish I'd been the editor and advised to pull back from the super detailed paramedic details. A story isn't a detailed manual. But underneath the details is a good story. An interesting turn of supernatural events. It's a good story and I will continue to listen. But the narration is not doing any favors. No inflection and it's a shame. This has such promise...

Mispronunciations

I really wanted to like this book but there are 2 things that caused me to give it 2 stars. The minute drawn out detail just seems like filler. The mispronunciation of simple medical term/lab/medication. I’m an RN and these mispronunciation grate on my nerves. It seem that if your going to narrate a book you should look up the correct pronounciation.
