About this listen
Against a backdrop of activism and anarchy amongst those living in the squalor of Victorian London’s East End, Johnny’s cooperative is thriving. His main concern is for his 15-year-old son, Noah, who is showing signs of having inherited the family affliction. Noah is seeing beyond the surface world, and Johnny is anxious to prevent him from setting his eyes on evil.
Meanwhile, William attempts to adapt to his new life in England and understand the deep mysteries of his family history. Mary is also hunting, but not for knowledge. To help stop Noah from going on a crusade, she searches the streets of London for a serial killer.
As the veil between good and evil thins, the family and community struggle ahead unaware of the cosmic battle being raged.

A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

Jin Rou wanted to be a cultivator. A man powerful enough to defy the heavens. A master of martial arts. A lord of spiritual power. Unfortunately for him, he died, and now I’m stuck in his body. Arrogant Masters? Heavenly Tribulations? All that violence and bloodshed? Yeah, no thanks. I’m getting out of here. Farm life sounds pretty great. Tilling a field by hand is fun when you’ve got the strength of ten men—though maybe I shouldn’t have fed those Spirit Herbs to my pet rooster.

From the survivor of 10 Nazi concentration camps who went on to create the New England Holocaust Memorial, an inspiring memoir about finding strength in the face of despair. On August 14, 2017, two days after a white-supremacist activist rammed his car into a group of anti-Fascist protestors, killing one and injuring 19, the New England Holocaust Memorial was vandalized for the second time in as many months. At the base of one of its fifty-four-foot glass towers lay a pile of shards. For Steve Ross, the image called to mind Kristallnacht, the Night of Broken Glass.

This forest isn't charted on any map. Every car breaks down at its treeline. Mina's is no different. Left stranded, she is forced into the dark woodland only to find a woman shouting, urging Mina to run to a concrete bunker. As the door slams behind her, the building is besieged by screams. Mina finds herself in a room with a wall of glass, and an electric light that activates at nightfall, when the watchers come above ground. These creatures emerge to observe their captive humans and terrible things happen to anyone who doesn't reach the bunker in time.

Mad scientists have never had it so tough. In super-hero comics, graphic novels, films, TV series, video games, and even works of what may be fiction, they are besieged by those who stand against them, devoid of sympathy for their irrational, megalomaniacal impulses to rule, destroy, or otherwise dominate the world as we know it. It’s just not fair. So those of us who are so twisted and sick that we love mad scientists have created this guide.

Different - But Compulsive
This book does not fall into my normal sphere of reading/listening material, that said the story although different it's a story of murder and mystery set against a Victorian backdrop had me hooked and held my attention. I don't know what genre I would put it into because it's sort of a cross between a ghost story, murder and mystery or a story of astral projection it definitely fits into the paranormal genre though as there are Angels and demons.
The narration by George Ellington is very well done.
I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review

Original Genre-Defying Work
Very interesting book, I had not read the previous books in this series, and the lack of ‘previously’ information impeded my understanding of the characters and situation until well into the book.
First of all, the narration by George Ellington is outstanding, he brings the voices and the characters to life in an amazing way. The genre of this story is difficult to classify, with elements of urban fantasy (in Victorian England), horror and mystery, with some ‘steampunk’ and ‘alternate reality’ thrown in along with the angels and demons, and lots of character descriptions and drama. I think that this book would be more relatable to a female listener, especially one who is interested in the plights of women making their way in Victorian England and both the good and terrible aspects of that society. The author has a gift for words and descriptions, and clearly has a deep knowledge of the period.
