About this listen

The Buckhorn brothers return in two timeless tales from New York Times and USA TODAY best-selling author Lori Foster

"Gabe": Gabe Kasper, the heartthrob of Buckhorn County, Kentucky, can have any woman he wants. But it's prickly, uptight Elizabeth Parks who gets under his skin. She thinks Gabe's some kind of hero and wants an interview for her thesis. He doesn't consider pulling a couple of kids out of the lake heroic, but he'll answer her questions in exchange for kisses… and more.

"Jordan": Jordan Somerville thinks he wants a woman who's a paragon of virtue. But then the gentle veterinarian - rescuer of strays - meets Georgia Barnes, single mother and exotic dancer. She's a far cry from Jordan's dream woman - and she's made it clear that he's hardly her dream man, either. So why is he suddenly tempted to break all his own rules?

Straight Up Romance

This audio collection is second in the series, Buckhorn Beginnings being first. The narrator, Isabelle Gordon, performed both audios. What a difference from one audio performance to the next! The performance on this audio is so much better than in Beginnings. The story is everything you'd expect from a traditional romance with lots extra steam thrown in. As you'd expect, light on content, and pretty mindless, this listen is good if you're filling in time while performing a thoughtless task...like painting the family room :)

Oh my Brother!

Gabe attracts women like flies to
honey. Lizzy just wants his story, not him.
This story is great. It's well written with plenty of bluster and unintentional humor on the Heroes part. An awakening in the making.

Jordan- holy hotness. I think he is my favorite of all the brothers. The hypnotic voice and sweet manner with a temper that rivals Morgan. Georgia has a carnal side that stops everyone in their tracks. Fighting lifes hurdles has never been more life altering.

Excellant Sweet Romantic Story

Oh yes it has sex, but that isn't the overwhelming source of the power of this story. It is a good love story with quality characters and reminds me of Robyn Carr's books.

Good narrator makes the performance a total 5 star read.

The Sexy brothers are back!

What made the experience of listening to Forever Buckhorn the most enjoyable?

our heros are strong, sexy and also show a helpful tender side.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jordan...smooth, and sexy

What does Isabelle Gordon bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I have read Ms Foster's five Buckhorn stories. Ms Gordon voice makes our heros really stand out.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Our heros make you feel good. They remind you to enjoy family and work hard to maintain a good relationship.

Any additional comments?

Would like Casey's story read by Ms Gordon to be made available soon.

Forever Buckhorn

Stories are good! Just can't take the cursing and awful sex! Narrator was okay! Not the best with women's voices! Gruff and sound old!

I will never forget this story, it was hilarious

Is there anything you would change about this book?

No. it is perfect in an awesomely bad way. This is the Mystery Science Theater of romance novels.

Would you ever listen to anything by Lori Foster again?

If depressed and had time to kill. This book was ridiculous, it made me laugh out loud, I hope it was written this way on purpose.

What three words best describe Isabelle Gordon’s performance?

I don't remember much about it, I think it was fine.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

All the brothers wearing nothing but cutoff jean shorts everywhere, the whole family, including babies posing for a family portrait in jean cutoff shorts! I men would have to be shirtless and the women would be allowed to wear tank tops, with no bras of course. Apparently, in this town going braless is acceptable because it's hot - hmm, I live in Florida and we don't do that much.

Any additional comments?

I read all three, they were all bad. In book number one I was disgusted with the "honey" name mix up, but then grew to appreciate the nonsense these books portray. This book takes the cake, I laughed out loud, I told my husband part of the plot and he laughed. I've told others and they laugh. Here are some highlights:
1. the main character's signature outfit is jean short cutoffs and nothing else, everywhere. He apparently doesn't have a real job. The other brothers routinely walk around shirtless or naked, too.
2. All the brothers live in the same house & if they move, it is still on the same land.
3. The women walk around with no bras. They are really stupid, I think they were pretty much all virgins, of course!
4. The premise for why this newest girl is here is really stupid. The seduction is incredibly stupid and he apparently thinks she is ugly at first because she has red hair & freckles, but likes her body.
5. Kudos to the author for trying to make having a nasty sunburn sexy - if you've ever had one that bad you would know this girl would have been feeling pretty awful and not in the mood for love.
6. the best part: the constant use of the words "female" and "male" as adjectives. "he was all MALE as walked toward her in his jeans with no shirt," "her skin was so soft, so FEMALE," "his scent was intoxicating and so, so, MALE"
Hilarious!

two hot brothers for one!

Would you listen to Forever Buckhorn again? Why?

Yes! If fact I have already listened to Part I again. I like the story of Lizzie and Gabe because Lizzie both have some missing parts that they help each other fill..with lots of love ..of course!
The second part about Jordan is good as well, but I didn't like the storyline as much.

What other book might you compare Forever Buckhorn to and why?

It is typical of a lot of early Lori Foster. There is a lot of anticipation and waiting for the two potential lovers to connect, but the wait it worth it because there are unforgettable moments when they finally fall for each each. However, it not just a steamy story. There is a sweet message that there is someone special for even the most awkward damaged soul.

What does Isabelle Gordon bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Gordon manages to capture Gabe's personality perfectly even with a female voice.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes..but what is good about this is there are two seperate, but connected stories . One is about Gabe and the other his brother Jordan.

Any additional comments?

I just downloaded Buckhorn Beginnings which I should have read first, because it is about the other two brothers and proceeded Forever Buckhorn. Anyway, I'm ready to go back to Buckhorn Kentucky. See ya at the lake!
