About this listen

A hundred years before, the brave menfolk of Balleywalegh drove a vampire from their midst.

Then a new century rolled around, and now it’s 1929, and the monster has returned...or has he?

Karel Novotny is handsome, well-mannered, and definitely up-to-date. He dances the Charleston and owns a Stutz Bearcat. With his movie-star good looks, he causes quite a sensation among the village lasses. Unfortunately, he has the same name as the former monster, and that’s causing the Balleywalegh fathers some worry.

Seamus Flannery considers himself a sensible person. He isn’t much for believing in vampires or other things that go bump in the dark. Nevertheless, he’s bothered by the mysterious newcomer’s attentions to his daughter Brigid.

When Brigid and the other girls become inexplicably ill, it’s time for Seamus to do a little digging into Balleywalegh’s past and find out what really happened that terrible night, before someone does something young Mr. Novotny will regret.

What Seamus doesn’t know is that there’s someone living in Karel’s manor house who holds the answers he needs, and he’s guarding that secret with his immortal life.

Great Story with a Twist

I loved this little dramatic story that has a tinge of humor but a twist at the end that no one would see coming. The story is intriguing and detailed that kept me guessing on the edge of my seat until the end. The characters are well developed and with the amazing narration of Matt Chittick who brought them alive with feeling and emotion. I highly recommend this book.
I received this book for free but that has nothing to do with my voluntary review that I am offering.

A nice, fast paced story, that keeps you guessing and interested to the end.

I can definitely see more stories emerging from this one.

The narrator also did a great job.

goid intentions

This is a case where deceit paid off and no nefarious deeds or outcomes were intended. Both couples got their hea it seems, so who can be unhappy with that??!! This ended as a pleasant surprise. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job.

Return of a Vampire

I am a longtime reader of anything vampire, so I am always looking for something new and unique. The author has done a good job in combining traditional vampire mythology with a new twist.

Karel Novotny is a handsome young man who arrives in a Scottish village and moves into the local mansion. His name is the same as that of a vampire who was driven out years ago. The locals begin to think that he is actually that same vampire, returned after over a hundred years.

When the young people in the village fall ill, old fears rear up and the men of the village decide to get rid of the evil once and for all. But, is Karel truly a vampire since he seems to be able to do all the things those creatures can't do? Will his love for a young woman in the village be able to save him?

All in all, this book was a fun, quick read, full of humor and plenty of twists. The narrator did a great job and his accents for the different characters were perfect and added a lot to my enjoyment of the book. I was given the chance to listen to this book by the publisher and chose to review it.

was okay

I feel like the story is part of a series and not a stand alone. It was well written. The narrator was great with the characters
