About this listen

Every disaster brings an opportunity.

Goth Sullus and his empire have fallen.

With the Legion and the rest of the galaxy watching from the still-smoldering galactic core, Carter, a former legionnaire turned private contractor, and Jack Bowie, a Navy spy with nowhere left to turn, sign up to work for an enterprising private contractor looking to make a statement on the planet Kublar.

Plans are in motion dating back to the Savage Wars, and as the galaxy rushes to fill in the vacuum created by the fall of the Imperial Republic, the bodies are hitting the floor.

But every plan has a reckoning…

Takeover is the thrilling aftermath of the final, desperate execution of Article Nineteen and the looming rebirth of the Legion and the galaxy itself as Galaxy’s Edge: Season Two begins!

I wasn't a fan in the beginning...
The new narrator and new characters really just weren't what I'd come to expect after binging the entirety of the books from Kublar to the end of article 19. BUT, I gotta say, it grows on you. It takes time to set up, get to know the characters and where the galaxy is at but, it's well worth the wait. Overall I'm looking forward to the next book now and can't wait to see where this new season takes us.
My only real gripes are the narrators female voices aren't the best and I think one accidentally dropped in and out of an Irish accent at a few points but other than that Ray is a pro and does a good job I loved his work on the Bobiverse series and I'm sure he'll only get better.

Not Legion but they still KTF

Ray Porter is a great choice for this new chapter in the series. Looking forward to the next book.

Excellent start to a new chapter of Galaxy’s Edge

Narrator feels different esp during accented speeches and names.
The story is different and though not as massive as previous ones, is a different approach.
Nether ops is still a bane.

Good start of a new series

This is a new story, following new characters, in the same universe and on a familiar world. Loved the idea of the frogs vs the donks, that was awesome!

Oh... and Chooooon! lol The narrator did a great job other then that one character name that shows up like... three times... i'm going to have a head cannon that the media keeps reporting the name wrong and so that's why the characters and everyone keeps saying it wrong too haha

Great job on all fronts!

These books are amazing and are literally in my top five favorites.. the narrator almost ruined this for me though.. after hearing RC Bray for the first season and his perfect performances there it was very jarring and harsh to try and make the jump to this book.. the narrator says names differently and has bizarre inflections throughout all of this book.. I love the writing and the writers but the narrator changed things so much it wasn’t quite the same experience..

Love the series, one of my favorites.. didn’t like the change in narrator though..

This one delivered. Hard to follow up Part V but this installment really starts a new story arc and makes it interesting. Smaller scope like the plot of the first two books, but with the potential to really expand.

New Season , New Story

I loved it. I do however miss R.C. Bray. The names we know are pronounced differently and when a certain old character popped up I couldn’t recognize them. Other than that I really enjoyed the book.

Great but one gripe.

Loved this one. Definitely well wrote a phenomenally narrated. I prefer Bray but Porter knocked it out of the park. No negatives about this Book.

Great Book and Narration!

I admit it - I held off on getting this book because of the change in narrator. But I love the story so much that I sucked it up. After the first few chapters, Ray Porter's voice began to fit.

The story feels a little bit like book 1. It's confusing. You have no idea what's happening... Until you do. In this case though, even the main characters don't know what's happening.

I love the continuation of the story, and the brief tie in to the kill team I've grown to love. But! I have one serious complaint.

The previous narrator called him Legion Commander "CHUN", leaving the second H silent. Ray says "cha-HOON". Aeson is pronounced "AYE-zun". (Think Aesop's Phables). I don't even know what Ray says. I-sen? Ayeee-zin? I did not know who he was referring to until I pieced the last name together.

Name butchery aside, this is a great continuation of the story you've grown to love. The tone has changed, but new characters shouldn't all sound like Chhun and Tom and Casper. Good stuff.

Goth Sullus 2020!

Back on Kublar!

Like the title says great book but terrible narrator. Either sounded bored out of his mind or like he wanted to take a nap.

Great book and a great series, terrible narrator.
