About this listen

Marines never leave their own behind.

Betrayed by the Republic, Mathison and his Marines are separated. Hunted by the Republic, the SOG, and the vanhat, they have nowhere to turn but to each other.

Having stowed away aboard a Governance troop transport, Mathison and Stathis escape to a SOG planet and discover the Governance has planned an ambush for the Republic. Meanwhile, Levin and Winters clash with Republic hunter-killer teams and barely escape with their lives. Wanted by all sides, the Marines have no allies and no way to find each other.

As the SOG prepares to ambush the Republic in the Zhukov system, the Marines and Aesir clash, with the vanhat prepared to slaughter everyone who survives.

The Marines have set their rally point at the gates of hell, and nothing will stand in their way. Let the bodies hit the floor.

John Pirhalla makes the book sing.

Things are heating up for our Last Marines. If you have read the first two books then this book is right there with them. There were quite a few moments where I did a LOL. It’s like Pirhalla dares Frisbee to come up with something and then our narrator nails it.
On to the next book.

Action AND Lulz Aplenty!

If the value if an audiobook narrator was based on the number of times you chortled or snickered inappropriately in public, then John Pirhalla would be raking in the lulz like a teenage girl with her first snapchat account.
His reading hit all the right notes. The eargasms were frequent, and oh so enjoyable. So easy to stay immersed in the story, and connect with the characters.
He has an endless array of character voices. It’s like each time Frisbee tries to outdo him with some crazy new character, Pirhalla was all “Yeah, I got this.”
In the end, the best compliment I think I can give this audiobook was that good fun was had by all through non-stop action, carnage, marine shenanigans, and lulz aplenty.
