About this listen

Like many truckers, Ron Hartman drives long hours far from home, trying to make ends meet. Chasing the dream of owning his own big rig, he has lost the thing he loves most; his wife and son have moved out of his run-down trailer house.

Desperate to win his family back, with his own truck and schedule, Ron is an ideal target for recruitment by major drug smuggling rings. When his truck breaks down and someone offers him a load that seems too good to be true, he is too desperate to heed the warning signs.

With money pouring in and finally providing for his family, Ron’s problems just get bigger; the DEA is sniffing around, and competing gangs set him up to be the fall guy. When he’s betrayed by those closest to him, his truck, his freedom, and his family all seem lost.

But a good Georgia boy like Ron won’t go down easily. He puts his life on the line in an all-or-nothing plan - ready to do whatever it takes to protect his family. Will his desperate plan turn the tables on both the criminal underworld and the Law, or will his dream destroy everything he loves?

Harley Rhynes

I’m glad I read this book. It reminds me of the human struggle and especially that of a man trying desperately to provide for his family and protect them in a harsh world.
I think most of us when we reach a certain level of success in life we tend to attribute it to our own good decisions and hard work. It’s so easy to forget the helping hands along the way or the lucky brakes we caught. We forget when we walked the razors, edge; failure on one side, success on the other. We forget The words of encouragement, and helping hands that many never get. Good read! Solid work Joel Cutter!

Worth it

I thought it had a slightly slow start to the story, but worth it to hang in there! A surprise here and there & good characters to connect to. Enjoyed this one.

Misguided or not, Family first.

This story is the shining example of character development. The reader gets an inside view of how one person can be pushed to the limit of life’s challenges to choose quick seemingly easy answers in solving their problems. Cutter doesn’t justify crime in this series, but rather provides thought provoking storytelling to help the everyday person better understand how even drug smuggling criminals are people like the rest of us. There’s a reason for everything. Misguided or not and like many, this trucker always puts family first.

I appreciate the realistic approach and familiarity Cutter weaves into this tale by immersing the reader in the world of everyday characters and relatable events.

The reader provides an great voice to bring each of these individual characters to life.

I see that this is book one. I look forward to and demand sequels! I further insist that the rest of Joel Cutter’s writings make it to audible!

What the heck kind of ride did you just take me on?!

Really great book! The development of the main character is impeccable. I loved every aspect of the story and the narrator was PERFECT. I got a bit excited when this was mentioned as Book 1 at the end…I want more!

Great Story

Great story, well written and detailed, very suspenseful. The only issue I had was the narrator, those awful accents, I almost turned it off. I pushed through and I’m glad I did.
