Publisher's summary

The girl had been staring into her mirror all morning before she picked up the small bottle of sulphuric acid and poured it over her forehead. Samira was a young woman with her whole life ahead of her. What could have brought her to this?

DC Jerry Pardoe and DS Jamila Patel of Tooting Police suspect it's suicide. But then a meek husband kills his wife, and the headteacher of the local school throws her pupils out of a window. It's no longer a random outbreak of horrific crimes. It's a deadly virus. And it's spreading. Somehow, ordinary Londoners are being infected with an insatiable lust to murder. All of the killers were wearing secondhand clothes.

Could these garments be possessed by some supernatural force?

The death count is multiplying. Now Jerry and Jamila must defeat the ghost virus before they are all infected....

Goosebumps for adults, and I love it!

Did I expect clothes to become serial killers? No, why would I. Did the storyline work wonderfully? Indeed it did! What a fun and gory story. The narration was also very good. 5/5 stars

Like Direct to Video 80s Horror

Ghost Virus by Graham Masterson feels like it was unearthed from a different era of horror, for both good and bad. The character work is adequate if occasionally a little flat. The plot is functional but exists mostly to showcase the book's greatest asset, creative and gruesome scenes of intense, supernatural bloodlust. The forces behind these grisly scenes are arguably a bit silly, but Masterson commits to the unique concept with an earnestness that actually really worked for me and elevated it from what could have been pure schlock. Your mileage will likely vary based on how much you enjoy your stories served with a side order of blood and guts. I expect I'll pick up the rest of the series at some point.

Quit halfway through - AND I NEVER DO THAT!

Wow, what an awful audiobook. It's like listening to two junior high boys trying to gross each other out by telling stories in succession. I'm not easily offended, and I wasn't offended. There is simply no point to it. I don't want to give spoilers, I hate it when people do that. If you get this book, start it right away and be prepared to return it.

Repetitive and shock value

Started off good. Gruesome but ok. Then just the same gore over and over again. Plus the casual racism. Too reliant on shock value. Couldn’t finish it.

Pointless

Gore for the sake of gore leaves me flat and the story hook didn't drawl me in enough to invest any more time in the series.
