I am still struggling through. It is not a bad story, just a so-so story. The narration is horrible and makes it difficult to listen to. All because of one character, Benjen. I do not know why Chris Snelgrove chose the voice he did but it sounded like blackface. I cringed every time I heard the character.

It is OK.

Lots if repetition and disjointed in places. Not a big fan of narrator but overall worth it.

It's okay. A good value for a credit.

So... the base story in the beginning has more texture that can be inferred by the listener, but as the books progress it becomes just a series of names without context. No personality development, no underlying motivations. The characters either LOVE the protagonist or HATE her.

As the story progresses, it's actually difficult to delineate how much time has passed, who is married to whom, which child belongs to which person/couple and unless you have a indelible memory and are binge listening over a weekend is HIGHLY likely to be confusing.

Character explanation/development could be better, LESS CRYING FROM THE MAIN CHARACHTER EVERY CHAPTER as the savior of all might make sense..... Honestly it's a cliche of a female herald that she OPENLY WEEP at every downturn. Weak crutch and fallacy.

EDIT: If anyone can search a text version of this series do a search for "brought tears to Katrin's eyes" guessing it will be in the 100's if not 1000's"

Midway through confusion

*This is my take on the 1-9 book version* Some how or another the narrator managed to run sentences together in a way that made it hard for me to keep up with what was going on. And the names of those folks! Whew! They sounded quite close to me. This book reminds me of the Three Stooges: who is on first and so forth. in any event this was a heckuva good listen and I enjoyed it bunches. It wasn't epic but headed that way.

Who did what?

I haven't finished it all yet, but so far it has me totally immersed in a world of wonder, magic, superstition, science and characters that have you laughing, crying, furious, vengeful, and intrigued. In a world that is ruled by superstition and prophecy, the author has you going from one adventure to the next wondering what amazing thing will happen only to find that what you think is a wonderful thing is but a fraction of the whole picture. Its beyond your wildest imagination. I can't wait to hear what comes next in this epic adventure!!!!!

So far...it's wonderful!

Gets a bit slow. Doesn't build an strong background for characters or lands... Some weak resolutions. Still more to come...

Ok. It's OK to pass the time

There was a point where I was about to stop this series and request a refund.

At first I enjoyed the books, part one was great but it went downhill from there. Things seem disjointed and many parts were not explained well enough. Many of the characters actions made no sense and later this was brushed off as "it was mind control" other something.

unsure about this one

a familiar genre but a different way of telling it not particularly original but definitely not the same old story I really like this book and I feel like the author put some thought into the story .

this was definitely a good buy .

the story was a little difficult to follow at times and the ending Brighton a character in the last few minutes of the book and left a dangling I don't know if there's supposed to be a sequel if not what was the point of it

godsland

The first few books are good id say, but the last few tend to not explain everything. So you have to do some hard thinking of what was what or just not know what items were. Also the last chapter in the last book was kinda random i think. Is there going to be another book after that or am I just going to have to be confused even more?

Last few books have confusing points.
