Publisher's summary

“I want to get you out of my head the only way I know how. With you underneath me.”

Kayla:

The only thing I’ve ever wanted was to get the hell out of Little Hope. Its small-town traditionalism is stifling, and there’s no way for ‘trailer trash’ like me to get ahead.

But a few years ago, my fate was sealed, locking me in this place forever.

The only shiny thing in town is Justin Attleborough, who’s put me at the top of his ‘hate-list’ for reasons that are beyond me, along with half the town.

The more forbidden the fruit is, the sweeter it seems.

Justin:

All I want is to wipe that night from my memory. The one that ruined my family forever.

But that’s easier said than done, especially when one of the biggest reminders of that night is shamelessly walking her leather-clad legs around Little Hope.

I can’t forgive Kayla for what she did, but my body doesn't seem to get the memo.

The town golden boy. A girl from the wrong side of the tracks. What do they have in common? Well… that night.

They say the truth will set you free. But what about the ugly truth?

This slow-burn, true-enemies-to-lovers, contemporary romance is a standalone filled with angst, scorching chemistry, and groveling. Each book contains a story about a different couple. No cheating. No cliffhangers. HEA.

TW: bullying, mention of SA. Strong language and adult situations.

Author's note: this book is darker than the first one. Justin is a bully and an a..hole but he redeems himself. He is not going to change the last part though, he is who he is, and I love him for that. I hope you will too:)

I absolutely love this book and was so excited to listen to the audiobook! I really enjoyed the dual narrators and think they were the perfect choices for voicing the characters. They did an amazing job bringing the book to life!

Not much of an audio book person, but….

This book was so much fun to listen to. I have read the book a couple of times, so when I found out there was an audio version I had to listen. I’m not usually an audio person because honestly, the voices never match what I hear in my head, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it makes me want to listen to more

Enemies to lovers never sounded so good

One of my favorite stories in Little Hope Justin and Kayla’s story is I think one of the most important. This story introduces us to the infamous Frank and has many other pieces of information that come up in the following books in this series.

Anticipation

The slow burn and anticipation was killing me. The way the storyline and it's twists were great!

I could listen to Alex's voice all day

There is nothing better than listening to your favorite series on audio. The story hits differently when you can hear the characters voices come alive. Narrators June deBorahae and Gideon Frost really did bring this story to life. I will probably be hearing Alex's voice in my head for a long while as voiced by Gideon.

While reading this book, I am growing more and more fond of the people of Little Hope. If this was a real place, I would not mind get stuck there. Also, it was very nice to see Alex and Freya from Haunted Hearts, book one in this series appear in this book as well. If anyone had a true enemies to lovers relationship it is Kayla and Justin.

They had history between them that was not easily forgotten. Luckily, these two strong headed people eventually realized that they were better together. Justin did not let up on Kayla easily. Yet, Kayla could hold her own. As the story progressed, I could feel the tension building between these two. So that when they finally got up close and personal, it was HOT! These summer days may be hot, but the pages of this book are scorching!

Guilty Minds

I've read this book now 4 times and I have to say listening to it on audio has been the best experience.

Both narrators were great, I felt like their voices really became Kayla and Justin. Gideon has a growly type of voice that really speaks like Justin.

Justin and Kayla are not friends. Everytime they get near each other, theres snapping and harsh words. It wasnt always that way. When Justin came back to town he made his dislike of Kayla known. Problem is Kayla doesn't know why.

The story is a true bully romance, it won't be for everyone. Justin comes off as a jerk a lot of times. But even when he was in his hate on Kayla stage, you could tell he felt something different. But when he finally gets the truth it's something else!

June and Gideon are phenomenal!

Oh my goodness....this audiobook was so fan-freaking-tastic! Ms. Cane did a great job picking her narrators for the roles of Justin and Kayla.

As a HUGE Justin fan I have to say Gideon Frost was such a good choice. Justin is a character with a lot of hatred towards Kayla and Gideon portrays that so well. Then there is his female voice that is some of the best I have heard a male narrator do and he even had to have an accent for Marina and he nailed it. So many times I felt like I could feel his hatred towards Kayla and later on towards himself. Then there are those times he is all growly.....I loved it!

June deBorahae was a new to me narrator and that woman is so dang good! I could not get enough of how much she matched my idea of Kayla. Every single character she had to be was complete perfection, from a British accented Archie to a Russian accented Marina, to Justin, Jake, Alex, Freya, and Alicia.....PERFECTION! She has this voice that is so soothing and keeps your attention.

If you loved Guilty Minds reading it the first time around I cannot scream loud enough to listen to this audio and revisit Frank's introduction along with Archie's! Experience Justin and Kayla go from enemies-to-lovers all over again.

Where heartache and Happily Ever After Collides

This is book 2 in the little hope series and can be enjoyed as a standalone, but its advised to be read after book 1 for context.

This angsty story is impossible to pause.

This story is filled with heartache and misunderstandings, with heartbreaking consequences, and shows true growth and resilience of the characters.

The writing for this story is captivating, the characters are the type you hate to love but do anyway (the MMC), and the strength and growth in learning your worth is a lesson hard learned and beautifully portrayed (the FMC).

This wonderful story contains humor, small town antics, drama and heartache that will make you cry, a redemption arc that is both hot and tender, and some much needed furry interference!

As a bonus, I also recommend experiencing this book in audio. The narrators do such a fantastic job, and these characters are portrayed wonderfully! The voice actors match the characters perfectly and they bring the characters to life.

This is a definite must read/listen!
