About this listen

From best-selling author Karen McQuestion comes a moving novel about broken hearts…and what it takes to put them back together again.

At nine years of age, Logan Weber knows the routine. Keep quiet, make the food last, and don’t ever cause trouble. He’ll do what it takes to evade the rages of his troubled, violent father. Even though he’s only a child, Logan already knows too much - has seen too much.

So when the opportunity presents itself, Logan runs. He has no idea where his journey will lead, or that the grandmother he’s been told is dead is desperately searching for him.

Alone with no home of his own, Logan looks for a safe place to hide. Relying on his instincts and the kindness of strangers, the boy manages to touch the lives of everyone he meets. But his innocent heart cannot survive in the adult world without the most basic human need of all: love.

Nice Story

I enjoyed the story. Easy to listen to while I sew. I get disappointed in stories when they leave out prayer. I believe turning to a higher power is in our DNA during stressful situations.

It just pulls you in for more!

From the beginning it just pulls you in and you simply can’t put it down. I don’t think I have listened to an entire audiobook as quickly as I have listened to this one.

Story Tugs On Heart

Well written and narrated story of family with issues and problems. Then it brings a happy ending. Altogether enjoyable, easy listen.

Hallmark…

Reads like a hallmark movie - predictable, not a lot of substance to the characters (my opinion) the grandmother characters were a little slow on the uptake … but it was a quick read and overall I enjoyed it.

Loved This!!

The author never leaves time to become bored, jumping back and forth between her well-developed characters - both their present and sometimes their back stories.

I felt the narrator did an excellent job with the different voices, emotions, intense moments, etc.

I would highly recommend this.

Feel good book!

This book is the kind of book that tugs at your heart strings. I fell in love with the characters and I'm going to miss them! I got very emotionally invested in them. I usually don't have strong opinions about the performance of audiobooks,, but the voice of the reader was great., very soothing and easy to listen to. Highly recommend this audiobook!

Oh my!

I loved this story. I did work my way through a box of Kleenex but they were happy tears. I usually stick to gruesome mysteries etc. but took a chance on this one. I totally “binge listened” and was surprised at myself. But as I stated previously, I loved the story. Also, I wonder if the author was at one time a Speech Therapist, I was and was amazed at the accuracy with which she described the room etc. Great job!!!!

perhaps this should be for pre teens.

stories like these help children realize how lucky they are and appreciate it. I received the same benefit from reading 'A Patch of Blue' when I was young.

Great Listen

This was a tough listen. Fantastic. but you just can't help but be terrified for this little boy. Take the journey with him. He is amazing and resilient.
