Publisher's summary

From bestseller J. B. Turner comes a pulse-pounding thriller that will keep you guessing until the end.

When a Swiss intelligence agent goes missing—taking with him thousands of classified documents that have the potential to expose covert agents and information around the world—he also threatens to expose the one secret that will change Jon Reznick’s life forever.

Hans Muller has found someone on Swiss CCTV footage—someone who is supposed to be dead, someone from long ago in Reznick’s past. If her true identity is as Muller suspects, and if he divulges her secret, it could be dangerous for her and her loved ones, not to mention disastrous for national security.

In a shocking twist of fate, the mysterious woman looks exactly like Jon Reznick’s late wife, who was thought to have died in the 9/11 attacks. Reznick has to know: Is this just a case of mistaken identity, or has Elisabeth been alive all this time?

Reznick jumps into an international fray with Swiss Intelligence agents and the CIA to find the missing classified documents and his own answers. Anyone who knows Jon Reznick knows he won’t rest until he finds the truth...even if it upends his life as he knows it.

Wow!

This story is excellent! I could not stop listening once I started. Can’t wait for the next one in the series. Best to read this series in order. Will listen to this again, most definitely! The narrator does an excellent job, as well. Love the series!

Enjoy these books

Do not like the excessive use of profanity. Think the story could be just as good without so much of the foul language

Brilliant change of what had become a predictable series

This was a one day listen. I couldn’t put it down. I will say that as episode 11 in the series, you need to have read at least the first 3 or 4 episodes in this series in order for everyone and everything to be brought together

Another Great Jon Reznick Book

I love the whole Jon Reznick series of books and this one is no different, I could not stop listening to it. I am glad that the author brought the wife back so that Jon could have some closure with his past and move on with Martha Meyerstein.....I hope they have a future..... I like that Lauren will get reacquainted with her mother and build a relationship.
Shot out to Travell for being awesome with a computer....

I absolutely love the narrator for this series and hope he continues with the next book. He always makes me feel what the character is feeling and get really involved in the story line. I hope that J.B. Turner continues to write more books in this series.

I will be listening again, like I do the other books, on repeat a lot of the times.

Wow what a surprise

Ok loved the book, was surprised by the turn off events, I linked the ending.

There are lots of actions in the book as expected from John. If you liked all the previous books in this series you will definitely like this book.

Heartfelt emotion in assassins

The faithful love of John Resnick and the enduring hope in Lauren, his daughter. Elizabeth was a bit stiff and not totally convincing in her feelings and decision. The Hans Mueller part of the story seemed patched in. Was his capture ever able to mitigate the damage to the intelligence service he betrayed. Travelled is a god-like figure who fully knows anything at anytime and available whenever Resnik needs an answer. Wow! But good story otherwise.

Why Are The Females So Oblivious?

I've been following these stories from the beginning. Narration is always on point and the storylines exciting. Love Travell. John is just John, hardheaded, inquisitive, well trained and a consummate soldier. But the females...all seem made from exactly the same cloth. I'm female myself and this pattern isn't good. I've stuck with it so far because I've been hoping to see some change. Martha, his daughter Lauren and even his former wife...ALL, as if their training has bled any sense of intuition, ability to see patterns and with a created aversion to violence of any kind while each works in jobs that are versions of Law "ENFORCEMENT". I can fully understand asking for evidence, but seriously, their 3 sides of dumbness is inexcusable. So now John has 3 hens griping at him. At different points each female "claims" to TRUST him, then proceeds to show him that they actually "don't!" Glad he hasn't gotten married. If things change significantly in the next one I'll hang in there, but if not, I'm done!

Apt title

Apt title. That is all.(the rest of these words are to hit the minimum to leave a review. and while we're chatting, real talk for a second. Audible does a lot of things really well, but oh my, do they have a lot to improve on...)

Another exciting Reznick adventure

A few years ago, I had promised myself not to read any more books in this series yet I find myself coming back again and again.
This story like the previous ones is exciting, but also like the previous ones, the dialogue between the characters can be hard to swallow and the incomprehensibly stubborn behavior of the main characters can also be hard to stomach. Yet, here I am, again, and I enjoyed this book, the action and the surprising story line.
