Publisher's summary

Three full books in one set.

New York Times best-selling author S.L. Scott crafts her signature, original style into an epic twist on the rock-star-romance genre that packs heart, angst, emotion, suspense, and heat in these second-chance best-selling books.

Through tragic beginnings, members of The Resistance rose from nothing into rock-star legends.

Though they thought they had everything, they each meet their own soul mate who makes them feel the one thing that had always eluded them: love.

Hard-to-resist bad boys on stage...and off stage, each of these men have a soft spot and heart of gold for the women who can change everything in their lives.

With obstacles in their way, and in some cases threats to their lives, will their love have a chance to grow, or will they be left to live life solo?

Volume I includes New York Times and USA Today best seller The Resistance and the international best-selling sequel, The Reckoning. Volume II includes best-selling books The Redemption, The Revolution, and The Rebellion.

Almost ☆☆☆☆☆

I really enjoyed this series. I gave it 5 Stars overall, but the female narrator (S.Peachwood) in Book #2 was difficult to listen to; there's just something about the tone of her voice that I struggle with. But the writing was great!

Love these books

I really liked two out of three books. Not only do I dislike Savannah Peachwood as a narrator, as a domestic violence survivor I really disliked the story she narrated. Yes, of course it had a good ending, but I have never yelled as much as I did at the second book. The other two books and the other five narrators are great!!! I hope there is a book about Tommy.

These Are My Rock Stars!

I loved all three of these love stories for the other members of The Resistance. Each story had such background & angst, but developed well, & had a hard won HEA. If only all band members could be such loving & devoted family men. Ah. . . swoon.

Dex & Rochelle’s story was my favorite, though Kaz & Laura’s and Derek & James’ stories weren’t far behind. The narration was superb! Bring us more sexy rock stars with damage strengthened hearts of gold.

Rock star angst and romance

The 3 remaining base members of the resistance are ready to settle down but nothing is easy. The first is a second chance at love for the former fiancé( they call her a widow in this book) of everyone’s favorite band member Corey. This book is full of grieving, guilt, depression, coming to terms with new normals, in Dex’s case overcoming drug abuse and in Rochelle’s being willing to trust Dex as more than a friend and to give love a second chance. A sweet story but a lot of angst and repetitive dialogue which made it too long. It was saved by having excellent narrators but again this book was unbalanced with much more Andi Arndt and not much Jacob Morgan. Also I wished for an epilogue scene like in previous book with Neil and CJ and an older Dex. Lots of unanswered questions on their life going forward.

Caz and Laura or Lara is a story of secrets - his concerning his past and hers escaping a powerful abusive ex. This storyline repeats in the related Crow brother series. Good narration as well though Savannah Peachwood is not as strong with male voices so a duet performance would have been a great improvement. A predictable storyline line for her and she wasn’t very bright even if she was successful . The secret past of Caz was an interesting and delightful surprise. A wonderful character and a balanced story.
The last was Derek and Jaymie, high school sweethearts torn apart by teenage bad choices, too much trusting of a rapist villain and very naïve impatient behavior. Jaymie continued to make impulsive and not bright choices including not confirming her child’s paternity which would have changed the plot. They are still pretty young i 24 & 25 so I guess dumb behavior is expected. A very sweet ending and more romance than hot scenes. This book had the balanced narration the Johnny Outlaw Resistance books didn’t and Sebastian York was great but his hot voice was too mature to accurately portray a 17 or 18 year old for the flashback scenes.
This series was definitely worth the credit or purchase and a bargain as a bundle. Just wish there was more to lie up loose ends. Maybe a Tommy book or a next generation series!
