So, what is SIBO? The acronym stands for Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth, a disorder in which bacteria that usually grow in other parts of the gut start to proliferate and take up residence in the small intestine. After decades of dealing with debilitating symptoms with no relief, Shivan Sarna's life changed when she was diagnosed with SIBO. The information in this book is more up-to-date and research-based than any of the other gut books I've listened to. Its not just opinions on gut health like other books, this is all real factual, science-backed info. You can tell that she has learned an enormous amount from the world-renowned Dr. Mark Pimentel, plus Dr. Amanda Sibecker and others, which is phenomenal!! And their research and clinical findings are reflected in this book. Nothing is anecdotal; it's based on actual scientific studies.
Humanity's knowledge of gut health is still in the dark ages, but thanks to GI researchers (Dr. Mark Pimentel and others), new research is coming out every 6 months - 1 year. So to have a book that reflects that new research is a big deal. I hope the author keeps this book updated as new revelations come out.
But if not, keep up with the latest on her YouTube channel "SIBO SOS", and specifically watch the interviews with Dr. Mark Pimentel (one of the world's leading gut health researchers). I've never learned so much from a single source ever!

Fantastic Book - Causes Of & Treatments For SIBO
This 2021 book is the most cutting edge information on SIBO and how to treat it. I have read articles all over the web and am finally sticking with Shivan Sarna (along with Allison Siebecker and Mark Pimentel) as the most credible source of SIBO info going forward.
This book is written by a former patient and now SIBO expert, so it's very easy to understand and follow. I read it in a day.
It's all you need to know on what we know so far about SIBO. I wasted a lot of time reading naturopathic blogs and other articles that were not accurate. It's a new and confusing topic and everyone in the field is doing the best they can, but I think this book cuts through it all and delivers the truth.
