Entertaining and educational

I love a book filled with science and a little humor!
The narrator read it in a very conversational manner and had a pleasant voice, enunciated well, and handled all those 53 letter medical scientific words with aplomb!

Awesome, Informative Book

This is such an informative book! I’m already a plant based eater, but I’m now inspired to try Dr. B’s program. I eat pretty clean but I see how I can diversify my diet a little more and am interested to see if I can improve my gut health. I’ll also recommend this book to my Nutrition Clients. Took away stars on Performance because the sound and tone of the narrator’s voice gets annoying... it sounds almost computer generated. I feel like Will could have done a better job! Either way, this book is worth listening to / reading.

Informative

I have read or listened to most of the books by the major plant based authors, but still thoroughly enjoyed this one too. Some people will find the way it was written as annoying where as I found refreshing it refreshing and more relatable. I enjoyed the fact that it wasn’t a well polished medical research paper type of writing. I believe that more people especially those looking into becoming plant based will be able to relate more to this book and the way it’s wrote than many others that I would recommend more for a seasoned plant based person expanding there knowledge instead of those just beginning on their journey.

Everyone should read this book

Dr. B lays out the secret to robust health in such clear and convincing terms, it’s hard not to come away inspired. To realize that I, and most everyone I know, have lived my life oblivious to what my food choices were doing to my microbiome - and that this was so significant to my overall health - was shocking. But the best part of the book is the hope he gives for healing, and the logical, step-by-step approach he recommends. He truly makes you feel that he is your partner on this journey.

The path to a healthy gut.

Great introduction to fiber-fueled eating. Dr. B provides the science and benefits of increasing your fiber intake and lays out the “low and slow” path for those with gut dysfunction. The 4 week plan at the end may be adjusted and modified to accommodate personal preferences and for those needing to go slower due to gut issues. One minor criticism—the amounts of suggested foods to buy are too much in many cases, so I would suggest looking at the recipes and adjust amounts for the number of servings you plan to make, especially if you don’t want a lot of leftovers.

Vegan knowledge is power

I loved this book. Followed to doc on instagram and keep up with his content. I was already delving into the vegan lifestyle because I knew it just felt “right” but after listening to this book, it is now concrete in my brain that THIS is the key we’ve been missing. So much amazing knowledge and studies to back up the facts. Definitely an eye opener and my entire family was shocked at the facts I was spitting from quotes from this book. If you want to be healthier, pick it up and read! You will not want to go back to your old self after this book.
