"With candor and science-based expertise, Freuman offers invaluable information for readers suffering from a range of debilitating digestive issues." -- Publishers Weekly, starred review

Bloating: ugh. About the most common complaint they get from patients, according to gastroenterologists. But Tamara Duker Freuman, a highly trained and sought-after nutritionist, knows something many doctors don’t: every unhappy belly is unhappy in its own way. That’s why Tamara’s clients call her “The Bloated Belly Whisperer,” and for good reason—for many years she’s successfully helped her clients accurately describe their symptoms, and find a course of treatment that delivers rapid and lasting relief.

In The Bloated Belly Whisperer, Tamara guides listeners through the same steps she would use in a consultation, first with a quiz to help them hone in on their specific symptoms, and then by discussing the latest research and patient stories to offer dozens of solutions that will reduce abdominal bloating in a week or less by:

· Helping identify the specific cause of bloating
· Equipping listeners with the right terminology and questions to take to their next doctor’s visit
· Teaching the most effective dietary remedies for each particular brand of bloating
· Laying out the tools and healthy practices to end abdominal distress and bloating once and for all

Critic reviews

“Tamara is one of the most brilliant dietitians I know — and her no-nonsense, science and experienced-based approach to tackling belly bloat is something anyone with GI issues will greatly value and appreciate. Anyone who has ever had a bloating problem will find this book to be an indispensable resource.” —Lisa Drayer, MA, RD, a CNN health and nutrition contributor and author of The Beauty Diet

“In this empowering and well-researched guide, dietitian Tamara Duker Freuman gets down to the heart of the matter: what the science says about bloating. Looking for answers? Trying to think through all the possible causes for bloating, what conditions to rule out, and what to treat? This book is for you. A plethora of science backed information

I loved this book! I have done a lot of reading and personal experiments over the last ten years about what the heck is going on with my stomach. This book lead me to conclude what I already thought to be true, so that is fantastic. The real triumph of this book, to me at least, is the last section where Tamara goes through all the different supplements and their true validity. Guys! The internet is FULL of people just trying to make profit (whether what they push will help or not) so it was wonderful to read (hear) about truly science backed supplements that could be useful to certain people. Awesome book!!

So Informative!

Tamara, the author and narrator does a wonderfully detailed job of explaining in both medical and laymens terms the various problems that can lead to bloating. By her description of APD I now know the culprit & cause of my food baby and further more how to go about controlling it. So happy that I listened to it!

Good nuggets, but also caution

Definitely interesting insight on various gut issues and some I was unaware of. Her diagnoses and descriptions in my opinion are the valuable aspect of the book. Her approach to healing is general information of what you would find if you simply googled. I would rate this book higher, but she recommended aspartame as a sweetener which has been linked to numerous health conditions. That statement alone makes me skeptical about what other information in the book she recommended I’m not aware of and health implications.
