About this listen

Beautiful narration (including appropriate regional accents and clear pronunciation).
This recording was made in "Hörspiel" production style, with its fun musical and atmospheric chapter interludes.

Content warning to young readers: This book doesn't hold up in its discussion of disability and evaluation of people based on their health status. The miracle cure and slightly preachy religious tones of the book can be a bit much. (No, you can not suddenly walk after drinking enough foamy goat milk.) Also, the idea of disability as something to be cured or overcome is still alive today, so I hope modern listeners can recognize these outdated beliefs as an illustration of a different time.
