A.D. Justice
I only wanted a cup of coffee. Alone. It was a simple request, right? Just stroll into the coffee shop on the corner, grab my usual cup of liquid nitrogen, and walk back out. All while minding my own business.
But I had to walk in at that exact moment. Not 10 minutes earlier. Not 10 minutes later. Precisely when Savannah Fields needed someone to help her. When no one except me had the courage to stand up for her.
After the incident, she looked at me like I was her hero. But I'm no hero. I don't even know who or what I am anymore.
Who is Nick Tucker? A DEA agent? A criminal? Both? Neither?
The lines I crossed while undercover blurred my staunch sense of morality.
Then the auburn-haired beauty showed up at my apartment, begging for my help. I couldn't turn her away. The more I lost myself in her, the more I found myself again. Or so I thought.
Even a broken clock gets to be right twice a day. There's a fine line between right and wrong, love and hate, heaven and hell.
Contains mature themes.

Enjoyable

Trigger alert: physical and mental abuse.
It’s so good though! My only disappointment is that the steamy bits aren’t written. Sure they have sexy times, but no descriptions included. That aside, the action, adventure and suspense (and of course romance!) is definitely worth the listen and I’m going on to the next book!
Really great!

Great romantic suspense!

This book was nice, but the list of inaccuracies drained me. An undercover federal agent's face is blasted over the news for months???
The ambiguity around what H did during his undercover stint. 👀 The officers response to a domestic call is nuts! 👀 and on and on and on.
Holes and questions that take away from the story. Yes, there's insta love but all of the exaggerations or oddities were too much.
Too far fetched in many parts

It’s been a while since I’ve read anything from AD Justice and she totally just reminded me why I love her books. Her writing is phenomenal. The way she weaves her story and builds it up until you’re on the edge of your seat expecting it to go one way and she totally sends it another. The narrators do a fantastic job bringing this story to life.
Nick is a DEA agent that was deep undercover with the Devil’s Dominion MC, until his cover gets blown. Now home back in DC and trying to decompress before all the trials start, he stops in for a much needed cup of coffee. Who knew he would be saving the one woman who would become his everything? Savannah is an ER nurse who got mixed up with the insanely wrong guy. Abused mentally, physically and emotionally, Savannah is forced to move to DC. Finally deciding she has had enough, she moves with the help of her best friend Karen, her DC cop husband, and some of his friends. Now several months later, and still not hearing a peep from Butch, she’s at her favorite coffee shop when her world gets turned on a dime.
This story is amazing. It has just the right amount of angst and suspense. And I love how Savannah finds her strength after years of abuse. These two have an instant connection that has nothing to do with the fact that Nick saves and protects her from Butch. You can just feel their chemistry rolling off the pages.
