About this listen

Something akin to peace has come to the Underdark. The demon hordes have receded, and now the matron mothers argue over the fate of Drizzt Do'Urden. Even so, it becomes clear to one matriarch after another that while the renegade drow may come and go, Menzoberranzan, the City of Spiders, will crawl forever on.

And so Drizzt is free to return to his home on the surface once again. Scores are settled as lives are cut short, yet other lives move on. For the lone drow, there is only a single final quest: a search for peace, for family, for home - for the future.

Hero picks up where Maestro left off, in a sweeping climax to an epic tale.

I love the book from beginning to end. It's starts off with action and ends with a huge shock. I must say I look forward to the next adventure of Drizzt.

Amazing conclusion to a wonderful adventure. Verily frustrating at times but always enthralling. Absolute masterpiece.

I've read all of Salvatore's Drizzt books, as well as the side series. This new series - and this new book - are among the best yet.

I don't know how he keeps doing it... ou oi!

Best yet!

Fantastic story by Salvatore and perfect performance by Bevine. A fitting end to this trilogy and until WoTC resumes the FR book franchise.

Loved it!

What did you love best about Hero?

It really shows the impact of all of Drizzt's hard devotion to the forces of good over his life. It shows how his existence has changed other people through his example.THE BEST THING THOUGH IS THE FIGHT OF ALL FIGHTS!

What other book might you compare Hero to and why?

None - for a long time I've been telling friends R.A. Salvatore Drizzt series are all the same. They always have fights that the good guys end winning with few casualties; they restore some place, or some dwarven ruined kingdom (Mithril Hall, Gauntlgrym). This book finally broke the cycle of my boredom that all Drizzt books generally head in the same direction. There are some unrealistic events that happen but still a 5/5 for me.

Have you listened to any of Victor Bevine’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Same - decent.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

!!*!*!*!*!*!*SPOILER SPOILER!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*
Drizzt and Cain - nuff said.

Any additional comments?

Great book R.A. Salvatore, thank you for finally bringing me something fresh in the world of Drizzt.

Amazing story

Victor Bevine kills it, as he oft does. Salvatore... He did it again, perhaps for the final time. He brought back some of my favorite characters, and tied up almost every lose end I wanted to know about. Any fan of the series to make it this far, doesn't need this review, so I'll leave it there. Fantastic. Also, Grand Master Kane...

If this is the last, it truly was the best!
