About this listen

After returning home from Romania, and successfully saving her best friend Lilly, Eden Matthews must now come to terms with her future as an Immortal. She is in love with the Crowned Prince, but he is betrothed to someone else. Her family desperately wants her to join their rebellion, but that would mean fighting against her one, true love, Kiran Kendrick. She must fight off assassins who want her dead, an Immortal rite of passage that takes her to India and a deadly disease that no one has thus far survived. Danger seems to lurk around every corner as Eden Matthews struggles to keep her true identity a secret and protect those she loves. Eden must find a way to be with Kiran, or turn her back on him forever and fight to save her people. Hopeless Magic is the second installment of the Star-Crossed series.

Eden has lost everything and everyone she loved. Now it's time to fight! Betrayal is a bitter pill to swallow at any age. Can't wait to see what happens.

The Story is Heating Up.

It seemed once you got farther into the story the intensity of your narration subsided a bit. But I thought in the first half the reading came on WAY too intense and strong-Almost annoyingly so I couldn't concentrate on the story being read. It was ad if everything happening was exasperating when in fact wasn't always necessary. But along the way it got better. ONLY CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM!
And I am buying the next one right now! and will follow up. AWESOME OVERALL! Sucked me in!

LOVED the story, just some notes for the narrator..

Again I'm not really the demographic for this but I did enjoy this book as much as the 1st one and actually can't wait until I see the 3rd one.

Great book.

This book got so much better. The main character grows up and not so dumb. Loved this book. Couldn’t stop listening. Yay!!!

Another awesome book. The narrator did a great job. Now on to book 3 and I am sure that the bext book will be equally as great. Awesome author.

Some reviews criticize the main character as being"whiny", however I just saw her as a typical teenager in denial and in love. Sure, she makes selfish decisions but at least she feels responsible and tries to make up for it. It doesn't bother me that she is overdramatic. She doesn't give up and is willing to take the consequences and learn. Don't nitpick about every mistake. At least the story is somewhat unpredictable which is refreshing itself.

Typical teenage angst

The story is very predictable but it is told in a very entertaining way. I enjoyed it.

Entertaining

I enjoyed this even more than the first book! Kiran's betrayal was heartbreaking! Eden's anger is palpable in the writing and the reading. She should have chosen Jericho!!!!

The book would have benefited from running it through ProWritingAid to find the redundancies that popped up everywhere adjectives sprinkled liberally when other words could have been employed. The plot was less than engaging and frankly, I don’t think I want to continue on with the series because I was bored, maybe I’m jaded and a little too old for this particular genre.

I enjoyed being taken to different parts of the world with magic sewn into it. It was pleasantly unexpected book.
