House of Lies and Sorrow: Fae of Rewyth Book 1

Dance with the Fae Prince meets Cruel Beauty in this Young Adult Arranged Marriage Fae Fantasy.

Jade Farrow will die tomorrow. Her fate was decided years ago, when her useless father made a deal with the greedy fae king to save his own life. Now, she is being sent to marry one of the five ruthless fae princes. The only problem is that she is not the first human to marry a fae prince. And like every human wife before her, Jade is going to be killed before she can find a way out.

Malachi Weyland is the heir to the fae throne. It’s the reason his brothers have despised him all these years, and it’s the reason his father is adamant on finding him a human wife. Malachi has one job, and that is to unite the fae and human lands. But Malachi has a secret, and it’s one that gives him his rightful name amongst both the human and fae lands: The Prince of Shadows.

Jade and Malachi are faced with life-or-death challenges as Jade is thrown into Malachi’s magical world. Will she die just like every wife before her? Or will Malachi, the same fae who is feared across all of Rewyth, be the one to save her life?

Show no weakness. Yield no mercy. House of Lies and Sorrow is a fast-paced, arranged-marriage story between born enemies who are forced to work together. Readers who love slow-burn, angsty enemies-to-lovers stories between a broody fae prince and a stubborn human bride will love this magical first installment of the Fae of Rewyth series!

Another new author

I had a great time with this book. I am a sucker for the one horse trope and it was in here. I really liked the male narrator in this book. Malachi as the male main character, and Jade as female main character was a great pair. Im intrigued and need more.

AWFUL narration

I’m only an hour in, and I’m really not sure I can finish. The female narrator is great, but the male narrator is truly the worst I’ve ever heard. I wish I could tell him to drop the bedroom voice and just talk normally. It’s just terrible to listen to…weirdly whiney and breathy at the same time.

The voice acting ruins this

The male voice actor sounds like horrid AI. This is either a computer or this man is trying WAY too hard to be sexy… constantly… for no reason. Female voice actor was better…. But some of her male voices are just overdone, she does drunk man as thought she doesn’t know what it is to be drunk lol I honestly might not be able to finish this book because of the narration

Good story, male narrator was rough

I was hoping for spicier, but overall, I thought it was a decent read/listen. The male narrator chose the worst voice for Mal. It was slow and throaty, like he was trying to sound sexy but instead, it just sounded awful. I read over all of the Malachi chapters on Kindle Unlimited so that I didn't have to listen to the male's voice.

Great book

This has been around TT for a bit, and obviously I had to get it!
Immediately got hooked! Love the voices of Jade and Mal (could be spelling that wrong) many twists, fae, power struggles, and love!
Ends with a big cliff hanger, and can’t wait to read the next book!

I’m still listening but,,,,

I like the book story and banter , however the male narrator is not it! No emotion and sometimes he spoke in run in sentences , used the same inflection for everything he makes it hard to listen.

Weak storytelling, painful narrating

While the storyline isn't particularly unique or captivating, the biggest distraction was the male narrator. I'm not sure what style he was going for, but it did not fit the story. (The other narrator was great, which is why I gave 3 stars for performance.) I did not enjoy this writer's style, which tended towards over explaining and a "tell, don't show" flair.

so many twists

this book kept me on my toes..
no spoilers. butttt....
this is a book about a girl who is promised to a fae prince who's reputation precedes him as a cruel and deadly man
the FMC Jade will do what is asked but can she live long enough.
No one knows who to trust. and she trust her husband. his family. her family.
everytime you think you have it figured out you don't
I can't wait for the next book.
the narrators let me say are 💋 😘.. Corvin and Allie are a fantastic duo. the make me feels the characters.. Allie with Jades angst and fiery personality and Corvin with the mystery of Malachi. I am adding these 2 to my favorite narrators list which is exciting to see them progress

Narration was awful.

I really didn’t like how there was more than one narrator for the entire story, yet they chose to allow both the female narrator to narrate all the male voices during her chapters and the male narrator to narrate all the female characters voices during his chapters (horribly, might I add!)

Also. The male narration was just off. His tone of voice, inflections, all very weird and disingenuous.
