About this listen

A doomed love, a dangerous mission, and a kingdom on the brink of war...

A cast-off princess…

Born into a life of duty and sacrifice, Morgan Pendragon's destiny has never been her own. Rumored to carry the tainted blood of the fae in her veins, her birthright was stolen from her when she was a mere child. Growing up in the shadow of her brother, the king, she has been promised to the goddesses when she comes of age. So, when her brother commands that she seek out a fae weapon of legendary power, Morgan seizes the chance to break free from the chains of her fate.

A dangerous temptation…

As she travels, Morgan finds herself drawn into a strange group of outcasts led by a dark and enigmatic warrior whose sharp wit and fierce beauty set her heart ablaze. While Morgan struggles to reconcile her desires with her duty, she and her new comrades discover dangers that await them beyond anything in their wildest nightmares.

A slumbering kingdom awoken by blood…

Believed to have vanished generations ago, a fae kingdom dreaded by mortals is ascending once more, bound to reclaim what was lost by violence and bloodshed. As the fae world, with its intricate web of lies and mysteries, is slowly revealed to Morgan, she is led to the terrible realization that the secrets she carries in her blood make her a greater threat than she could ever have imagined.

The first in an action-packed new series brimming with magic, danger, morally gray characters, and spellbinding slow-burn romance, Queen of Roses is perfect for fans of Jennifer L. Armentrout, Raven Kennedy, Rebecca Yarros, Carissa Broadbent, and Sarah J. Maas. Intended for mature listeners.

Found this book on TikTok and absolutely LOVED IT! Even upgraded my subscription so I could get the other books. It may start out a bit slow but I swear it’s worth it.

With progressive storylines and a female main character that has moral and Drive, I am looking forward to finishing this series as the legend of Camelot are some of my favorite stories.

Lovely retelling of the Arthurian legend, you know and love

I felt the way the narrator was reading it like a story to little children and I couldn’t stand it. I got maybe 4 chapters in and then had to stop. I switched to reading the book and loved it. The story is great. But this audio book was awful.

The narrator is why I DNF

I tried, I really did. I got about 4 hours into the audiobook before I just couldn't deal with the narrator any more. I watch shows and listen to plenty of podcasts and audiobooks with British accents with no problem, but this one just hit me as whiny, or like she's reading to a child? Just not for me.

There are some things I think are interesting in this King Arthur retelling, like Merlin being the head priestess of a monastery, and the sibling relationship between Morgan and Arthur. However, it's four hours in and I don't feel like anything has happened plot-wise and I don't feel attached in any way to any of the characters. Maybe if I had more time to read rather than listen, I would read the book, but there's nothing so far that's pulling at me to finish.

Narrator is not for me

The story is great, the performance is wonderful, I love her voice. My issue is with the LFM. She is so so naive about what’s going on around her. For someone that’s supposed to be an amazing fighter she just crumples to the will of her brother. The fact that she took the “medicine” for as long as she did because her brother (who is horrible) told her do just drove me crazy. Hope she gets better in book 2.

The LFM took away from the story

The FMC is weak. Grow a backbone for goodness sake. The fact that she doesn’t drove me insane. The plot for this story is really good, but it drags way too much at times. And again, the MFC is a disappointment. I won’t be continuing the series.

It could have been really good

The best female protagonist I’ve ever read in a fantasy. Actually likable, and makes more mature decisions that seem realistic. So many female fantasy characters are so immature and annoying, this was incredibly refreshing!. And amazing, creative story that really builds over the whole series. Has it all.

Amazing -one of my absolute fave fantasy

oof, the vocal accent is a bit to bare, and it doesn't help portray the fmc as anyone but a gullible, dim witted girl. I hate finished and I am confused with the ending... I guess I'll continue the journey.

Where is the b.a. FMC?
