About this listen
How would you like to double or even triple the amount of money you make in tips as a food server? If you are a waiter or waitress, these simple-to-follow suggestions will increase the amount of money you make in tips - guaranteed.
Wouldn't you like to know the most important things to pay attention to when you are waiting on your guests? Wouldn't you like to know the things that will have negative effects on the amount of money you make in a shift?
The information contained in this book is condensed and straight to the point. In other words, you aren't going to have to listen to a bunch of fluff to try to find the good information that will tell you exactly how to make more money in tips.
So, why should you listen to me?
Well, for starters I have six people whom I am very close to who are either waitresses or waiters, three of which are my own kids.
I've also spent the last 40 years of my life dining in every kind of restaurant imaginable, from the small breakfast shop around the corner to the Ritz-Carlton. I've experienced the best and the worst of service in restaurants all over the country.
In addition to including the wisdom shared with me by my kids and friends about what it takes to make a lot of money in tips, I spent many hours researching the topic. Through consulting with professionals, my own experiences, and drawing practical information from reliable sources, this book was created. These truly are the best of the best suggested ways to make more money in tips as a food server.
Sure, you could comb the Internet for hours trying to find information on how to make more money as a waiter or waitress, but why waste your time doing that when I've already done it for you?

Most of us work ourselves silly focusing on quality, demonstrated outcomes, and proven results. That's a good thing. Yet too often we often stop short of the final step: zeroing in on how all our hard work comes across to the patient or customer. Why do we spend so much time making sure the ingredients are right...and so little time thinking about perception? Liz Jazwiec, award-winning author of Eat That Cookie! and Hey Cupcake!, asks (and answers) this question in her latest book.

Story
In 2007 chef Grant Achatz seemingly had it made. He had been named one of the best new chefs in America by Food & Wine in 2002, received the James Beard Foundation Rising Star Chef of the Year Award in 2003, and in 2005 he and Nick Kokonas opened the conceptually radical restaurant Alinea, which was named Best Restaurant in America by Gourmet magazine. Then, Achatz was diagnosed with stage IV squamous cell carcinoma - tongue cancer.

Story
Success Is for You draws upon many concepts that fans of Dr. Hawkins will recognize and applies them to the world of business and the psychology of success. Expanding upon the illuminating discussion of the attractor patterns of success from Power vs. Force, this remarkable never-before-published book pulls back the curtain on the inner workings of the successful mind. Success, according to Dr. Hawkins, is an attitude we inhabit rather than a goal we strive for.

Just step out your door today, and you will notice that poise is a rarity in our wired, fast-paced, and unmannerly world. As uncivil behaviors like flip-flops at Broadway shows and digital oversharing proliferate, this timely book reminds us of the quiet power of behaving with dignity, kindness, and grace. Jennifer L. Scott's Parisian mentor, Madame Chic, embodied poise and not just with the good posture, stylish attire, and natural manners that made her extraordinarily elegant.

Story
Best known as the host of Fox's Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares, Gordon Ramsay is one of the most driven, successful, and irate chefs around. He has thrown Hollywood actresses out of his restaurants and is notorious for his anger, but his food has been served to numerous heads of state, and he is one of only three chefs in England whose restaurant is rated at three Michelin stars. Sometimes hilarious and frequently heartbreaking, this is Gordon Ramsay’s full life, from tenements and poverty to top-notch restaurants and fame.

Chefs, Drugs and Rock & Roll transports listeners back in time to witness the remarkable evolution of the American restaurant chef in the 1970s and 1980s. Andrew Friedman goes inside Chez Panisse and other Bay Area restaurants to show how the politically charged backdrop of Berkeley helped spark this new profession; into the historically underrated community of Los Angeles chefs, including a young Wolfgang Puck; and into the clash of cultures between established French chefs in New York City and the American game changers.

Do your kids think that clean, folded clothes magically appear in their drawers? Do they roll their eyes when you suggest they clean the bathroom? Do you think it's your job to pave their road to success? As parents, so often we hover, race in to save, and do everything we can for our kids - unintentionally reinforcing their belief that the world revolves around them. When Kay Wyma realized that an attitude of entitlement had crept into her home, this mother of five got some attitude of her own.
