A good guideline

As someone who is currently looking into ketamine therapy, this was very resourceful and informational. Nothing in this book was difficult to understand, and the author did a very good job in trying to prepare you for what is to come.

This book is very insightful!

This is a great book for anyone, considering ketamine therapy for depression, or other conditions. I had knowledge of ketamine treatments before listening, and jumped ahead to the ketamine experience itself. However, this is a tremendous resource for people just starting to explore ketamine therapy.

Great resource for those considering the treatment.

I am a provider of IV ketamine and I read this to evaluate it as information for patients.

The author provides an excellent description of the user experience. He also provides good tips on how to find a reputable clinic and provides good information about what to do before and after treatment.

The only area I disagree is the notion that anesthesiologist can provide a better experience. As a fellowship trained psychiatrist I’m in a unique position to evaluate the progress of my patients treatment as well as administered treatment. I can see the point which is why for the first year of operation I had an anesthesiologist as a consultant. Well, this is comforting in hindsight, I don’t believe it was clinically necessary as a good physician is already equipped and already has the knowledge needed to administer this medication.

Helpful guide for patients by a patient

The book was a concise story of one person’s experience, and I appreciate the author’s sharing his story. This is a short guideline of the process from the patient’s perspective. Don’t expect a technical or medical analysis. Such information is available from scientific literature available on the Internet. This is an observation, not a criticism.

You thinking about ketamine? Start here.

I am preparing to start this treatment soon so for me, this book was perfect. All of the questions I had about this treatment seem to have been answered in the book. The best part was the author actually needed the treatment for himself, so you get really invaluable information about what the process was like. What it was like being accepted into a treatment center, how to pay for it, how he reacted, and how others have reacted to it. He even breaks down the four types of K trips you can expect to experience if you try this treatment.
Knowing what to expect has helped put my mind at ease. Whether the treatment works or not, reading this book will prepare you for the journey. Wish me luck and good luck to anyone starting this treatment!
