The best part of the book was the narrator

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I didn't love this book, and had to push myself to finish it. I thought it would get better, but it was only mediocre.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Rosalyn Landor?

Rosylyn Landor is my favorite reader, so I always look for titles that she narrates.

Any additional comments?

I don't think I'd purchase another by this author.

Pleasant stiry, fm gray as always narrator!

Not quite as steamy as some of the romance novels (not a bad thing!) just a cute love story, with more humor about the Smythe-Smith musicale! I basically love anything Rosalyn Landor narrates...she gets all the voices just right.

Great dialog

My favorite part of Ms. Quinn's books is the humorous dialog. Strong characters, supporting actors, & of course Ms. Danbury

The story is just like heaven!

I found nothing to dislike about the story! You couldn’t help but fall in love with the main characters. Loyalty, kindness, love and family pride is all wrapped up in this beautiful story. I enjoyed reading it not just once, but twice and more. Will be one of my top favorites!

A sweet listen

Typical of the series, but enjoyable nonetheless. Honória is a sweetheart that would be great to see on the bridgerton Netflix series.

Ok, but also a bit annoying

I found the first part of the story okay, but started to get a bit annoyed over time with the over-use of the main female character’s name. It seemed that the author couldn’t be bothered to come up with a good way to describe Marcus’ adoration and thus just kept him repeating her name. In addition, I don’t appreciate that the author writes Marcus would no longer be able to control himself when the two started making out. That’s perpetuating a stereotype of men’s uncontrollable sex drive and is one of the “excuses” used by perpetrators of sexual violence. In my opinion, a line like that is not romantic or hot, it’s dangerous and should not be used. There are plenty of other ways to describe his passion for her.

Sweet storyline

A very sweet read. Recommend for fans of historical romance. Another worthwhile installment from Julia Quinn. Made me want to read all the books in the series.

Not even close to heaven

This book by Julia Quinn was very disappointing. Senseless chatter by young women and their mothers, not once by several times. The beginning was overdone emphasizing that the heroine was a nuisance when she was a child. The characters were flat and didn't have chemistry or tension.

SPOILER***The bedroom scene was just unbelievable - in her parents' house during a party? The hero was as close to a rutting pig as an author could write it.**

Very disappointing from a writer who has done much better.
The narration was well-done considering what she was given to perform.
