About this listen

"Deeply romantic and breathtaking...readers will be swooning and flocking to Scotland long after they’ve turned the last page."—Livy Hart, author of Planes, Trains, and All the Feels

Ready or Scot...

Globetrotter Addie Macrae always follows her wanderlust. As a travel consultant, she jet sets around the world—anywhere but Scotland. But when she’s sent on assignment to help a struggling family-run tour company in the Highlands—and save her own job—Addie packs away her emotional baggage and turns on the professional charm.

Rugged as the land he loves, Logan Sutherland’s greatest joy is sharing the beauty of Scotland’s hidden gems…even if it means a wee bit of red ink on the company’s bottom line. The last thing Logan wants is some American “expert” pushing tourist traps and perpetuating myths about the Loch Ness Monster—especially when Addie never leaves her desk to experience the country for herself.

As they wage an office war, Logan discovers Addie’s secret connection to Scotland: a handful of faded Polaroids of her late mother. Hoping for a truce, he creates a private tour to the places in the pictures to help Addie find closure and appreciate the enchantment in less-traveled destinations, never expecting the off-limits attraction sparking between them. But Addie’s contract is almost up, and magic won’t pay the bills. They can’t afford distractions, but how can Addie do her job if she hasn’t explored all Scotland—and Logan—have to offer?

Addie Macrae (MFC) is a professional travel consultant, a globetrotter, suffering from wanderlust currently finds herself in Scotland, a Country with direct heritage to her and her parents. Her mother is now deceased, but Addie has many polaroids with her mother, Heather, in front of many different locations in Scotland, that her father had taken.

Logan Sutherland (MMC) is a tour guide for his family’s Scottish guided tour business and he’s not happy about Addie’s company being there to pick apart his family’s business and possibly making changes to the tours.

The two of them have quite the rocky start with each other and Addie holds herself aloof, because she’s always guarded with her feelings and personal life. She has next to no relationship with her father since her mother passed away.

I wasn’t a big fan of Addie, but she is likable, but the author does give us a HEA.
4.5 ⭐️ and the narrator’s did a really nice job bringing the characters to life.

Logan & Addie: triggers: loss, grief, depression. First time reading this author and I loved it. It was equal parts funny and serious but there are moments that are just downright sad and then there are moments when the author turns on the heat just a little bit. It's not extremely spicy and definitely not very descriptive but it doesn't take away from the story. The end was kind of predictable but what romance book isn't by now. Good book. Narration is spot on.

somebody find me a Scottish man WITH the accent NOW!

I don't often read romance stories but this one was fun. It is a great vacation read. A little wordy at the beginning but flows better as the story goes.

Fun, entertaining read

Everything about this book was good, but not great—the story, the characters, the narrators. Nothing was wrong, but nothing really sucked me in. It did make me want to visit Edinburgh though!

Cute story

Angus King: I want to listen to every book he narrates.

I wish that for books like this anytime a woman speaks, instead of having the male narrator mimic a female voice, have the woman voice actor do it instead. Same for male voices during the woman’s POV chapters. It gets to be a bit jarring and would help it flow better. But that’s me being nitpicky.

I enjoyed the story. The plot of her and the photos was good. Spicy scenes were fun but coulda been more descriptive for my tastes. All in all I’ll listen again!

This was a lot of fun

A couple spots where the story dragged a tiny bit for me and I felt like the story didn’t complete the storyline with her dad.
Overall I enjoyed it, especially the understandable Scottish brogue.

I chose this book because I wanted a fun and light romance with witty banter set in one of my favorite places.

Scotland didn’t disappoint, but our two leads sure did. For adults who both allegedly needed a partnership to work for their careers to survive- they both behaved like petulant children.

It was obnoxious to listen to. For TWENTY NINE CHAPTERS- they couldn’t have a professional conversation or act like adults- which ruined the relationship part for me.

Five, seven, hell even ten chapters, I would understand but near thirty of a miscommunication trope is just obnoxious. You either assume your readers are idiots and will ignore it or won’t care.

Miss this one. Not worth the credit.

Don’t waste the credit

This might have been a fun story? Angus King is the only reason I could hang on and listen for more than the first couple of pages… as always, he’s a fantastic narrator. The female narrator ruined any interest I had in this story. First bad review I’ve ever written.. it was that bad for me. I should have read the book instead.

Unfortunately terrible.
