About this listen
Humanity and the Arkthin alien race have been in a perpetual military space war for decades. Mortal enemies whose only purpose is to destroy each other on sight. This is the tale of how love can appear even amidst the most brutal of battlefields and in the least predictable of situations under the strangest stars.
The year is 2880. Humans have gained the hyper drive and space shield technology to venture into the NGC 3242 Nebula—not knowing they would have horrific company when they arrived. Maria, an Earth Fleet star pilot, truly had no way to predict what kismet had in store for her.

The Jedi Council gave Revan his life back, but the price of redemption was high. His memories have been erased. All that’s left are nightmares - and deep, abiding fear.

Story
They hunt us. They bomb our worlds for target practice. A star cluster in the constellation of Orion rotates once every 1,000 years. Those who rule there have an ancient tradition: When each cycle ends, they train their fleets by spilling the blood of lesser beings. The enemy fleets are coming again. In response, the Rebel Worlds gather their starships to face the terrifying threat, and this time humanity is asked to stand with them. The last time they considered Earth, Vikings in longboats were raiding English coastlines. Today, we're less primitive. Today, we're a target.

In orbit, a group of scientists are running the Winter Experiments, a last-ditch attempt to understand why the planet is cooling. None of the climate models they build make sense. But then they discover an anomaly, an unexplained variation in solar radiation...and something else. Close to the burning edge of the sun, they catch a fleeting glimpse of something that shouldn’t be there....

Predator ships stream into human space in unprecedented numbers. The Colonial Marines, controlled by Weyland-Yutani, respond to the incursion, thus entering the Rage War. This terrifying assault by the Yautja cannot go unchallenged, yet the cost of combat is high. Predators are master combatants, and each encounter yields a high body count. Then, when Lt. Johnny Mains and his marines - the VoidLarks - enter the fray, they discover an enemy deadlier than any could imagine.

They tried to destroy our planets. Our way of life. They tried to send us into extinction. But we, the Coalition, fought them and won. That was a decade ago. They’re known as the Host: a cabal of aliens seeking to dominate our sector of space. And they’re back - with help from a powerful new enemy. We’re outnumbered and unprepared. But there is hope. An ancient race of long-dead but technologically advanced aliens called the Navigators have a ship called the Blackstar that could potentially turn the tide. That is if I, Kai Locke, a humble ship racer, can find it and learn how to harness its power in time.

Story
They're all gone. We remember them like yesterday: pieces of our stolen heritage. Things like NASA. Football. Parades and pies. Good things, comfortable things. We remember a time when we were alone in the universe, safe and oblivious. But it's all gone now. We called them the Telestines, and in the face of their ruthless invasion we were powerless. By 2040, all the world's governments and militaries had fallen, and the remnants of humanity exiled to the solar system. We looked down on our blue planet, so close to our birthplace, so close to our home.

"Alone with the enemy."
Stranded on a small planet at the end of a collapsed wormhole, a human female and a pale blue humanoid male from an alien species, must decide whether to live in trust with each other or continue to try to destroy each other again
Short, only 41 minutes, rather predictable but OK.
Narrated by Skyler Morgan with clarity and good modulation.

Great narration
I enjoyed this really really short novella
I was gifted a audio copy of this book and really enjoyed the narration.
Skylers voice is very soothing and the rhythm of the book is fantastic.
Not so much world building found in this book because of how short it is but all in all it was indeed pleasant

Could have been much more...
The story could have been much more detailed than it is. Narrator was amazing, such a smooth rich voice. I would like to see longer more detailed stories from this author.

Good book
I look forward to more from this author. The book was really good for being so short. It left me wanting more. I liked it so much, I listened to it twice.
It's an enemies to lovers Sci Fi Romance. I'm a big fan of Skyler Morgan and his narration just added to the book.
