About this listen

One week.

Home alone.

Girl genius.

Unrepentant slacker.

Big lie.

What’s the worst that could happen?

Mona is a smart girl and figured everything out a long time ago. She had to. She didn’t have a choice. When your parents are uber-celebrities and you graduate from high school at 15, finish college at 18, and start your PhD program at 19, you don’t have time for distractions outside of your foci. Even fun is scheduled. Which is why Abram, her brother’s best friend, is such an irritant.

Abram is a talented guy, a supremely gifted musician, and has absolutely nothing figured out, nor does he seem to care. He does what he feels, when he feels, and—in Mona’s opinion—he makes her feel entirely too much.

This is the bundled version of the Laws of Physics trilogy and includes parts one through three (Motion, Space, and Time).

I listened in all available time. I am in the minority as a STEM man who loves romance stories. this story captured the male view very well. I loved the family and friends interactions. I am in a hurry to find the next Audible from Penny in the series.

Wow I loved this story and presentation

I highly recommend listening/reading Penny Reid's other books before listening/reading this one, because this book actually involves and mentions other characters from her different books! I was extremely happy when they merged with this stories main characters seamlessly. The story was (much like all her other books) supremely enjoyable, smart, and hilarious. I definitely recommend all to read/listen to all of Penny Reid's novels.

A new favorite to connect them all

If you loved Marie and Matt in the knitting in the city series -Dating-ish, you will love this look. I was so excited when that connection was made… well done Penny Reid👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Marie’s Brother Abram

Abram, I’m in love. The male lead, Abram is one of those characters you just fall in love with and is the one by which all those that follow are judged. I know I’ve really liked Penny Reid’s books in the past. None have been loved like this one. Admittedly, the first part is slow, stick with it, it’s well worth it.

That was unexpected!

I totally didn’t know that the Mari in this book is the same from the knitting series. They caught the business, the security business, reference, but I did not catch that. These were actually the knitting ladies. though this series is OK, the knitting series takes the cake.

Love how the author ties books together

This was so much fun to listen to after having read it years ago. I love the way she mingled characters from KITC & The Winston Brothers (my favorite). I got to listen about Po Peyton and his two sisters.. And Mat & Marie & all the couples from KITC.

Loved this

Wow, this may have just become my favorite Penny Reid novel (and that is saying a lot--she is 'emotional intelligence brilliance' personified). Relatable personality traits of the main characters: nerdiness, sensitivity, logic-brain (she), creative-brain (he), shyness, shame, being different from others.

Reid unobtrusively packed this novel with current knowledge about psychology, attachment, relationships, sex therapy, trauma therapy, healthy boundaries, the nature of love, being strong vs being vulnerable, what it can mean to "be authentic," how scary that can be. There is an awesome natural respect and courage around feminine power and "softness."

This novel is like watching a living example of How two people can connect (love) when their own fears and issues are solidly in place to "protect" them. It's like a walking couples therapy lesson. And the side characters bring in some great examples of how family can grow and learn to treat each other, how to be a friend, etc. I loved it.

Stunning readers too. Man, did they read these parts well. Both excellent.

how to be vulnerable, how to be authentic
