About this listen

The shocking thriller from top 50 bestselling author, Ross Greenwood

Ben wasn’t brought up, he was dragged up.

With absent parents and broken friends, a young Ben makes choices that are ruining his life. Before he’s even twenty, Ben’s spells in prison begin, and soon he finds himself involved in serious crime. When people begin to die, Ben must choose a side.

But is this really the life Ben wants or is there a way out of this vicious cycle? Is he destined to fulfil his fate of being once a prisoner, always a prisoner? Or can Ben swap a life on the inside, for one with hope on the outside?

i enjoyed this book and as always david thorpe did an amazing job narrating. some of my thoughts and theories about situations in this story have changed some of my perseptions. wasnt expected the story to go the way it went but it was great and understandable!

unexpected

…Seems unlikely that Ben would be as polite as he often is in the book. I would not have believed this about a three time prisoner except that I know one. I speak with him frequently, and he is very polite even though he was convicted of killing someone who had befriended him. This book helps break the stereotypical attitudes. Who would not be holding out hope that Ben would have the courage to resist the temptation which could return him to the dreaded prison cell?

A polite criminal…

Another brilliant story from Ross Greenwood. Looking forward to his next one. Well read by David Thorpe.

Will there be a sequel to Lifer? It seemed to just drop off at the end, with no resolution to Ben's situation. That was so disappointing because the rest of the book was great. Ross Greenwood and David Thorpe are the Batman and Robin of the literary world. The Dynamic Duo! Can't wait for the next book. Still hated the ending tho.

Brilliant except for the ending...

Ben is a strong character and the story does describe the spiral brought on young people who are brought up in wrong family situations and/or poverty. There are different types of criminal described here. Excellent performance.

Very Good

He is by far in my top 3 favorite authors. The narration is slow, controlled, humorous and I love that he uses his experience to enlighten the reader on life lessons.

I'm never bored
