About this listen

Ben wasn't brought up, he was dragged up.

With absent parents and broken friends, a young Ben makes choices that are ruining his life. Before he’s even 20, Ben’s spells in prison begin, and soon he finds himself involved in serious crime. When people begin to die, Ben must choose a side.

But is this really the life Ben wants, or is there a way out of this vicious cycle? Is he destined to fulfil his fate of being once a prisoner, always a prisoner? Or can Ben swap a life on the inside, for one with hope on the outside?

Ross Greenwood is back with this shocking glimpse into the criminal underworld.

Brilliant except for the ending...

Will there be a sequel to Lifer? It seemed to just drop off at the end, with no resolution to Ben's situation. That was so disappointing because the rest of the book was great. Ross Greenwood and David Thorpe are the Batman and Robin of the literary world. The Dynamic Duo! Can't wait for the next book. Still hated the ending tho.

Very Good

Ben is a strong character and the story does describe the spiral brought on young people who are brought up in wrong family situations and/or poverty. There are different types of criminal described here. Excellent performance.

I'm never bored

He is by far in my top 3 favorite authors. The narration is slow, controlled, humorous and I love that he uses his experience to enlighten the reader on life lessons.
