About this listen

Formerly published as There Goes the Bride.

Texas socialite Delaney Cartwright knows she can't go through with her wedding. But she can't simply call the whole thing off. The nuptials to her nice, predictable childhood friend are the social event of the season (not to mention that her mother would freak). To fan the flames of this dying ember, Delaney abducts her fiancé for a night of passion - and grabs the wrong guy! A guy with smoldering eyes and an irresistible country-boy swagger...

Ever since his ex-wife left him on their honeymoon, detective Nick Vinetti's sworn off relationships. And despite the sparks flying between him and Delaney, there's no way he's getting mixed up with another runaway bride. But when Delaney takes her "get out of marrying the wrong guy" attempts to the next level, landing herself in danger, Nick finds himself willing to do anything to keep her out of harm's way.

Run Away Bride

A sweet romance with a touch of intrigue. The female lead Delany is a people pleaser who cannot bear to disappoint her strong willed mother. I can empathize with her and understand how difficult it is to rebel. Fortunately, she runs (literally) into a rough hewn Texas lawman. This destined meeting combined with the magic of an antique wedding vale give her the strength to believe in herself and take a chance on
love.

Enjoyable with minor irritation

Story was good but the title is a bit misleading. Not sure what Long, Tall Texan had to do with the storyline unless it was referring to the main female character. I have to admit sometimes I'm attracted to a book by it's cover and the cover doesn't fit the story in my opinion. Overall it was good however there were a couple of spots where the narrator did not use the Italian accent for Nick's mother. That made me cringe. because the accent was so good.

Best Romance Ever!

This is by far the best romance I’ve ever indulged in, audiobook or otherwise. It’s whip-smart funny, sweetly magical, yet in-depth regarding the characters' foibles, insecurities, longings, and true motivations. The narration was excellent, and I intend to listen to it over and over again. That’s a first for me because the story is that good!

Boring and too wordy

First, the narration was very good, The changes in characters was good. The story itself was boring, I kept thinking: get to the point! The young female protagonist was clueless and a doormat in spades. I'm not a fan of weak females in books. The detective was a good character. I'm angry with myself for wasting so many hours on this book instead of just moving on to another one!
