About this listen

In a cave in the Shenandoah National Park, two bodies are discovered, wrapped in the tattered remains of a lover's knot quilt. In Washington, D.C., Isaac Taylor inherits a nearly identical quilt from a grandmother whose name he never even knew.

After narrowly escaping death, newspaper journalist Kendra Taylor retreats to a cabin nestled in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley to heal and sort out her feelings about her troubled marriage. As she is welcomed into the rural community of Toms Brook, Kendra becomes curious about an heirloom lover's knot quilt, which is another piece of Isaac's unexplored past. The unusual quilt clearly has a story to tell, and Kendra is convinced that helping her husband connect with his roots might help him reconnect with her, as well.

Loved it!

This is my second Emilie Richards book but my first audio book in a very long time. I happened upon her first book at a thrift store and was blessed by the story. She is the type of writer who can grab you and make you part of the story so that you feel like you are a member of the community involved. I find myself wanting to find it and move there so that the stories will continue and never end. I can not wait to read another.

Utterly Fantastic

This was a reread as I had enjoyed reading the book some years ago. Listening to the audio was pure pleasure and I raced through it. I so love this series and had forgotten much of the story so it was like listening to a totally new book. Highly recommend the book and the narrator, she brings the icing on the cake to this wonderful story.

Well written - keeps your interest until the end

I first listened to Emilie Richards' book "Sisters Choice" and liked the story and characters so much that I went back and listened to this book. The setting in this book sets the stage for "Sisters Choice" with many of the same characters. I loved both stories and now have to go backwards again and listen to "Endless Chain", which takes place before "Lover's Knot". I am anticipating another great story. Each book has a story of it's own, but weaves some of the same characters into the succeeding book.

If you haven't listened to any of them yet start with Endless Chain, then Lovers Knot and then Sisters Choice. I discovered from the authors website that there is also another that precedes Endless Chain - it is Wedding Ring. It is not available as an Audible book - but I'll be watching for it!

great story, odd voices for children

Good story. Children are narrated in distractingly weird, whiney voices. This makes them very hard to like.

Loved this book I have read the whole series

What does Isabel Keating bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Loved her voices old and young female male teens- totally awesome. It's why listening is more fun than just reading. Plus you can get stuff done.

Any additional comments?

I love Emilie Richards and I've read everything by her. She puts so much work into making the history of her books correct and her characters are so believable. She is awesome.

Beautiful story of American history

This was wonderful. I enjoyed every bit. It’s a book all people of that heritage should read.
