Publisher's summary

Within a matter of days, Samael will turn to ash.

And there’s a high chance I’ll die with him.

To save both our lives, I’m calling in every favor and debt owed to me.

I’ll travel through realms.

I’ll tussle with mythical creatures.

And I’ll hand over the things I value most—even if it means playing right into Lucifer’s hands.

I never could have imagined I’d risk everything for a demon. But what Samael and I have will always be worth fighting for. Even if it means ending treaties, severing friendships, and alienating our allies.

Because Samael is mine now.

And I protect what’s mine.

If you like K.F Breene, Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Faith Hunter, Laurell K. Hamilton, Jennifer Estep, Shannon Mayer, Kim Harrison, and Dannika Dark, you’ll love this series. The Deals with Demons world includes the fae, demons, mages, werewolves, witches, and more.

Series keeps getting better

This is such a great ending for the 3rd book great cliffhanger. I’m glad I can just get the 4 the book. I like how she is a little bit more of a smart ass in this book. I hope she gets better in the 4th one.

UGH...THAT CLIFFHANGER.....

4.75 Stars 🌟

Oh. My. Gosh.... Not again. I thought the last cliffhanger was bad...... UGH!!!!

Wow. This series has gotten crazy! Crazy intense, crazy suspenseful and crazy good.

This book has Danica doing everything in her power to save Samael. She is using all of these relationships that we have watched (well, listened or read) her develop during the last several books as she does the impossible and begins to find and storm down a path to achieve her goal. A goal that EVERYBODY has told her is impossible. Yeah Ag, I'm talking about you....

I like how we see the three girls - Evie, Danica, and Kyla - jump all in and decide to trust in Danica. I already mentioned how I thought that the whole Kyla/Danica relationship developed awfully quick, but in this book, we get to see the fruits of this relationship. Kyla is pretty bad**s and I am really liking her. But Danica, Danica takes the cake in this book. She is the one who really shines. She is NOT going to listen to ANYONE who tells her anything that she doesn't want to hear. She refuses to believe that she will not save Samael and I LOVE that.

One of the things that hit me while reading this was how amazing that storyboard must have been in Ms. Stark's head or in her office as she was developing this plot line. All of the characters that she put in place, all of the relationships that she had Danica nuture....all of those were seeds that were planted for specific reasons to give her a path to later come back to claim favors and offer deals to save Samael. Crazy, just crazy.

And just when you felt like you were able to catch your breath, and think maybe, just maybe things were going to be okay......then we get that awful, AWFUL cliffhanger. *shakes my fist in the air*

I actually had to re-read that final chapter a couple of times. Well, tbh, I was listening so I hit stop, went and found the print version and THEN re-read the last chapter so that I could understand what happened. Ugh...

The only saving grace is that book 5 is already out. I've got to go now.

All I can say is that it better get better.....*asking nicely now*

Emotional Roller coaster

This book was a doozy. I was emotional wreck most of the book.

The story starts 2 days after the end of the last one. Samael is struggling to stay alive after getting hit with the power of 3 spell. The only thing that is keeping him alive at the moment is the fact that Danika accepted their bond and branded him back and his dragon also being bonded to him.

Everyone is acting like he is already dead considering there is no known cure for the spell. Danika is struggling to keep it together amongst everyone’s lack of faith in her. The light fae king is rumored to have the cure so that is where the story takes us.

We truly see the ruler that Danika is becoming. She uses all the allies she has gained up to this point. Striking a bargain with the light Fae, navigating the Dark Fae alliance, creating new alliances, and traveling many realms to find the cure. She rarely faulters in her quest, when she does her dreams with Samael are there to catch her.

Stacia Stark did a wonderful job setting the scene for the climactic 5th book. People and things are being moved into place. It’s a beautiful thing to witness. All I know is that the last book of Danika and Samael’s story will not be boring and I’m sitting at the edge of my seat in anticipation.

Omg! That ending!!!

No!!! After all that - the ending had to end with a crazy cliffhanger! Will Samuel go to the Underworld and lose all his powers or will Danika be able to see through the BS her grandfather is spinning? This book was my favorite yet but I have a feeling the next one will not disappoint!!!
