Critic reviews

"Anne Flosnik's narration is superb, as are her characterizations of major and minor British characters, which are so good they give the sense of multiple narrators." ( AudioFile)

Superb narration and story!

Catherine Coulter definitely writes outstanding suspense stories. Anne Flosnik narrates excellently employing many different voices and accents to further draw in the reader/listener. One truly feels present and involved in the many different happenings.

Lyon’s Gate

Loved this book. The ending was slow. The twin story was unique and inspired to make this book. The reader was wonderful.

Very witty

At times I found some of the dialogue laugh out loud funny. Enjoyed all of the new and returning characters. A fun listen. Highly recommend the Sherbrooke series.

Nothing new, repeat of all other story lines

Sadly, this was my least favorite Coulter book. Same basic story line same basic comments same basic arguments throughout the whole story. Pretty disappointing. Additionally, quite a few out of place or oddly inappropriate conversations that I don't think people Would normally have in those particular situations. Like in mixed company with their inlaws , or grandmothers or aunts or housekeepers. Just seemed like a forced story to get the book done.

Try again, Mrs. Coulte

Well, sad, sad, and more sad!
Mrs. Coulter puts a lot of steamy scenes in this book, which, if one wishes to read such, then you will have your hearts desire fulfilled. Not me. I wanted a plot, please. There was no plot. Nothing but: Revenge? Horses? Marriage? Yeah, all of this mixed up into an **idea** of a plot that was never really formulated by the (ugh, ugh) "beautiful" man. Oh, right, there are two beautiful men, twins.

This is simply a quick placement of words on paper for eager readers hoping for more of their favorite author. Or maybe this was more the fault of a pushy editor, driving the author to write, saying, "Finish, finish, finish ... ", thus we are left with a sloppy, cut and chop book. Badly done.
