Gretchen Felker-Martin's Manhunt is an explosive post-apocalyptic novel that follows trans women and men on a grotesque journey of survival.

“A modern horror masterpiece.” —Carmen Maria Machado, bestselling author of In the Dream House

“Keeps up a relentless velocity while just being plain fun as hell.”—Torrey Peters, author of Detransition, Baby

Beth and Fran spend their days traveling the ravaged New England coast, hunting feral men and harvesting their organs in a gruesome effort to ensure they'll never face the same fate.

Robbie lives by his gun and one hard-learned motto: other people aren't safe.

After a brutal accident entwines the three of them, this found family of survivors must navigate murderous TERFs, a sociopathic billionaire bunker brat, and awkward relationship dynamics—all while outrunning packs of feral men, and their own demons.

Loved this book

This story is very satisfying. I enjoyed the world building. Beth and Robby are both amazing, very well written characters all over this book.

Loved!

Everything I love in one book. Post apocalyptic world, all types of representation, hot sex, dead men, love stories, and violence. Katherine did an amazing job narrating. She goes from sexy and sultry to a rough Boston accent.

Trans Grindhouse Perfection

CWs for the book: violent bigotry (including murder, SA, mob violence, public hate speeches/rallies, etc.), terf ideology, hangings, r*pe, SA, transphobia, body horror, and extreme gore

Manhunt is extremely graphic, depicting acts of sex and violence in salacious detail. It also doesn't flinch at depicting naked acts of hateful bigotry in the same detail. That would usually be enough for me to tap out. What makes it a beautiful book that's worth your time is the loving care given to depicting it's trans characters as they fight against it all; often in the small daily ways that will be all too familiar to trans readers.

Also, there are a bunch of loving, respectful, hot AF T4T sex scenes.

Pucciariello's performance is fast and clipped and passionate. A great fit for the material. She has a great range of voices and affectations which really bring the whole cast to life.

It's an indictment of TERF-ism. It's a validation of trans struggles big and small. It's a bloody, sexy mess.

I love this

This book is genuinely my favorite book of all time. The violence isn’t for everyone and it is very disgusting however I believe this is done very well and enjoyably.

Gory, sure. But the T4T love is SO good.

This book is so refreshing in the various trans people represented. Various body types represented. Even Non-binary representation. All while trying to survive the apocalypse. Just 10/10. OH MY GOD I ALMOST FORGOT THE VOICE ARTIST IS TRANS. Immediate fan.

Good book

Interesting take on the apocalypse. Hard to follow sometimes but I would recommend. Good points of view.

Speechless

WOW.

It’s unlike any horror/post apocalypse fiction I’ve ever heard. I was entirely riveted.

Hopefully the author will continue writing.

This is the type of inroad into culture, that may loosen the foundation of the fortress, hateful ppl are blind to.

Gross, fun, gutsy pulp at its best.

I was doing dishes while listening to the audiobook when That Scene happened. I just stood there, like a war wife looking out the window, seeing the army hearse pull into the driveway, water running over.

This gory, venomous, gleeful, vulnerable book dared me to be a braver writer, narrator, and queer, and for that I will always love it. Major credit to Felker-Martin for this amazing story, and Pucciariello is now one of my favorite narrators. Her work here is an incredible performance, and both are women to watch.

Five Stars

this book is great. If you think you will like it, you will. and if the concept is disgusting to you then you very much will not. I loved how messy and gross this book got, but like the best horror it had alot to say about our real world. I enjoyed this alot and will be sharing it with anybody I can.
